The plan would provide direct payments to taxpayers, jobless benefits and a $500 billion fund to assist distressed businesses, with oversight requirements demanded by Democrats.

Green card holders are eligible. The same criteria applies as for USC's.

Thank you for clarifying this.

All I always read is Americans. That made me think that only US citizens were eligible and Green Card holders not.

It's just easier for the media to say Americans since that is 98% the target audience. My wife got the 2008 stimulus as a green card holder. As long as you have filed taxes, it should go to your last address they have on file.

Wonder if this is covered for my husband. In process of Adjustment of status which would suggest not but it does say that if the individual is a legal resident which I guess he and allot of others possible are classed as because of filling taxes.

We filled ours including the printout to class him as resident for that financial year.

Let's hope he and others get it as it's tough still waiting of work permit which unfortunately is also inevitably delayed

I saw it said as long as you're not a non resident alien. I might be wrong though.

Since this is going to be based on tax filing, I expect even those married couples where the foreign spouse is not yet an LPR, but they filed their taxes MFJ in 2018 or 2019 whichever is most current, and they do not exceed the limits, those couples would still receive the $2400 as a married couple.
