Doodle-- he has been cleaning every day and he keeps saying it's better and better :) He has a routine now where we clean about 2 hours each day. I combine this with where I cook him something. I had ordered this halal meat as a trial and we've been using that. I made him an accidentally great dish 2 dinners ago-- "fillet mignon" (maybe? but I think it was actually top round) and rice pilaf with a side of mixed summer squashes. I took the recipe and altered it since it called for red wine sauce... I used cream, tarragon, garlic, butter, and chives like it said but instead of the wine I used 1 lemon using the logic that wine would give a slight sour taste to the sauce. It worked out better than any wine sauce I have ever tasted actually. He actually had me empty the contents of the sauce pan onto his plate and he mixed it with everything! At any rate, he got pizza last night (home made 5-cheese, hi Jen!!! I did it again!) and tonight we're going for tandoori chicken and basmati rice.

I've been hitting up "opportunity sales" (like the Amish store :) ) and getting a lot of stuff when I find it... spices, etc. I have bought a lot of stuff in bulk and am basically spending about $20 a week at this point just on fresh veggies or perishables and living out of the cupboard/freezer. I think I had about a $200 outlay on meat and spices and giant-bag-o-rice and now we're more or less just winging it. I have a grocery budget and I'm trying to keep under it even with him here. I do $100 a week in my mind, and that includes all pet supplies, TP, detergents, cleaners, etc etc. I try to keep under $50 in reality, but sometimes you have a week where you get bleach, TP, paper towels, or filters (A/C), etc. So that's why there is the wiggle room. It really does help to do meal planning, so I am trying to stick to that! Living on a budget can suck :) But with most of VJers seperated from their SO and faced with odd bills (like the phone calls :) ), it is just a necessary evil for us I guess!

ha! I will surely loan him out yes! He is looking for another job... :) He will shine things like tile and sinks. He sat me down with a "cleaning rag plan" yesterday and allocated a few rags for various specific places. Did you know the computer monitor needs its own rag? I didn't. :)
