Ed and Rosemarie on "90 Day Fiance." STD Tests - Thoughts?

I know it's only a TV show, but it's an interesting examination into both sides of a typical American-Filipina K-1 relationship.

I feel like both are authentic and true to their own situation. Is it fair to request an STD test? If you really know and trust your fiance, then it's not necessary, but it's better to simply do it if only to protect both people. Also, some STD's, like chlamydia, can linger for many years and are difficult to detect. Left untreated they can cause infertility in women. Women should be thankful about undergoing the tests, as they may save the girl's fertility. Mutual STD tests in this day are a common courtesy, not at all reflective of trust.

Ed and Rosemary are very entertaining. I like them both and wish them the best of luck. I think it will work out if she opens up a little more and he trusts her a little more. It's interesting as an observer as it helps understand both experiences.

I didn't see a issue with that. My now wife and I did the same thing when we started dating and became serious with marriage on the table. The only thing I didn't understand is why he wouldn't do it in the PI? I like she said" I do the test, you do the test", that was more than fair, then he wimps out saying he can't do it here, only in the US, what a clown. LOL. Obviously he hasn't traveled very extensively, but he should have familiarized himself with the culture he was going to enter. I love him complaining about the heat, get used to it buddy. LOL. Show is a waste to me, but my wife likes it, so I stick it out ( Happy wife, Happy Life). And I do find it humorous.

Just an FYI:  Part of the medical at St. Luke's  ;)

Good point, I'm not sure if they test for everything or not, but more than likely.

I agree. Suck it up, buddy. He hasn't seen anything yet. Imagine sleeping in a house without AC. The hottest night of my life was trying to sleep that way, on the floor, no AC, no fans, no electricity. My shirt was soaking wet. I was miserable, but really enjoyed that experience and the family was so happy and thankful about life; Rich in a way we can't understand here.

Sounds like my last trip in February.   Landed in Bohol and the power was out.  Hertz rental car couldn't do the paperwork and I had to go back a day later to sign.

At least we had a bed and a breeze.  My 76 year old kano mom rolled with the punches and wants to go back!

He might have gotten more traction if he offered to do the same thing. Asking her without offering to do the same seems odd to me, mutual testing or don’t ask.

i do not think he understands the differences between San Diego and the provincial Philippines. His face when his business partner was describing bathing facilities and flying cockroaches was insane. He is not for this experience,.

More like social distancing now.   Keep the change - no one knows where it has been.

That's exactly what I said on Reddit as well. I flat out said that it was that amount and that if he argued over that small amount then Filipinos can and will look down on you for being so petty.

No fans???? The only time we had no fans going out in the sticks of Mindanao was when there was a brown out. My wife tends to sweat really bad (I mean big drops of sweat) when it's really hot out
