Ohh, so you're a day trader? Yes, indeed that's a risky game, because based on what I can perceive in the news, cruise lines stocks (I suppose you can lump airlines, hotels, etc.) may rise and fall with the whips of the stimulus package going through the roller-coaster in Congress right now. So if this drags on...or the Democrats are successful in putting forward their own plans (sans any cruise line bailout) -- those stock value will find themselves much, much lower than 7.90. Providing you time the market well enough to get out before (and if) that happens to mitigate any loss you may incur. OK, I think I got the idea. Thanks much mate!

I'm working on a 4-5 year plan, I'm in no hurry. I missed out on the 2008-09 recession, figured I would try my luck this time. Even if I double my money I'm happy, no need to be greedy. I was so tempted to sell when it hit 12, but I'm only in my 40's, I've got some time left. I really don't like to day trade per say, much to crazy for me. Last week those few days just reminded me that this isn't my cup of tea. I'm pretty much done for now, just reloaded the trade account just in case. I'm sure a month from now I'll be sending the extra money back into the safety of my high yield savings account.

Here on a K1? Need married and a Certificate in hand within a few hours? I'm here to help. Come to Vegas and I'll marry you Vegas style!!   Visa Journey members are always FREE for my services. I know the costs involved in this whole game of immigration, and if I can save you some money I will!

Why do they need to work on other issues now?  This is about workers without jobs due to the corona virus, not climate change. Hey, why don’t we take their paychecks away until they come up with a plan both sides agree on?

Please don't make opinion off other people's opinions. This is an opinion until or unless that person provides "valid" references or proof of what they say.

The democrats "primarily" wants to prevent the bailout going to to corporate fat cats who will more than likely turn around and fire staff and indulge themselves in stock buy-backs, bonuses, etc. after the market subsides (its not about climate change). Don't be fooled or blinded by the Senators who wants to distract us to their very real intent to to pad the pockets of their fat cat donors off "your" and "my' hard earned tax dollar.

They wave a meager $1000 in front of our eyes like a carrot in front of a donkey...thinking we'd be desperate (and distracted) enough for that money we would not bear witness to their plunder to the determent our future (and children's future for the benefit of their donors).

After you receive that $1000, then pay your rent -- what is left? What will we do the next week; next month...what about what if this continues for 3 months? What then? You''ll be right here again, desperate for $1000 in perpetuity. This problem need a "real" solution.

Yes, indeed...I was tempted to buy a few stocks. Although I think I've lost out. I saw this problem coming since December 2019, but never quite had the funds to buy stocks. If I had the money, I would have swooped up the Drug makers (Tylenol and others who make most the medicine used for this virus), 3M, Ventilator manufacturers, hand sanitizer manufacturers...basically, any publicly traded company that makes medical equipment like face masks, gloves, etc.

I think there is still good money to be made, based on how much money one has to invest. Although, some will take a much longer period to return one's investment. Either way, before this is done, I will stick my foot in at some point while the market is down (providing I survives the pandemic). Either way, good for you on your returns (and bravery)!

We expect the same thing from the poster to provide “valid” refrence or proof. Not referring to websites or news channels.

I would totally support it. Dont pay them until they come up with something that make sense.

The bill also includes more than $50 billion in relief for the industry, but it would require airlines to go carbon neutral for domestic flights by 2025. "

Agree.  While the country is under an emergency, some politicians want to play their usual games.........I, for one, will remember who these people are.

You haven't filed taxes so probably not.

Depends how the final bill works out. The Republican bill that was recently rejected would have excluded somebody who did not meet the 2018/2019 tax levels. The Democratic bill/ammendments did have provisions for people who had a change of circumstances since the most recent tax filing.

I think that is a good idea......I'm curious as to how that would be implemented.

I read one Senator's plan (not sure if it was submitted as a bill or not...) but this is a big question mark.

It was a simple "if you earned >= $x and <= $y as of x/y/z, then you qualify". Not perfect by any means (not sure what self-employed people can do...), but it's something.

Original plan had someone on SS or retired or those who did not make enough to pay taxes receiving $600 or less.

Dem plan significantly boosted those money amounts but hit harder on those making $75k a year or more.

Also one of the house plans did address a lot of the questions on this forum regarding work authorizations and visas being extended, but I haven't heard if the potentially agreed to plan will handle this.

I think the proposed bill (which went down in flames) had a minimum for everyone.  But I'm not sure how they determine who "everyone" is.  Quite a logistics problem.....might provide a good argument for a national ID card,
