Did not write Alien Number on form i765

Hi All, 

 

I am a student on F1 OPT. I recently got my EAD but lost it shortly afterwards. I applied for a replacement EAD card by filing form i765 again. I did not realize that the USCIS# on my EAD was actually also my alien number so I wrote "None" in the question about alien number. I did not leave it blank, I actually wrote "None" with a pen. I was expecting them to reject and return my application from the lockbox facility but I received I797C (Notice of Receipt). The alien number field on the notice is blank. I did attach a copy of my lost EAD with my application.

 

Is it advisable to send a letter to USCIS or call the helpline explaining the errors and asking them to correct? Am I better off waiting to see what they do? I will be in a lot of trouble if they deny my application.
