My Fiancé entered to the USA on March 5th,

she haven’t been able to apply for SSN, and getting married is on the unknown field since everything is closed,

what might happens if the 90 days period ends and we can’t get married?

thanks

Thanks for replying, If I’m not mistaking that means paying another application fee!

You are correct.  Another $535 plus the AOS fee.

You can also marry anywhere in the US.

In Colorado you can marry yourselves---no ceremony or celebrant necessary. You can fill the application out online, and then show up at a county clerk's office to have them print it ($30). You sign it, they file it, you're married. The clerk's offices are closed, but you can email them and they can make arrangements.

You don't have to be from CO to make it happen. Looks like you're in NY... that's too far away to get here, but perhaps look into states surrounding you and what their marriage regulations are. There might be one similar that you can drive to. Or just email your clerk's office (soo many people working from home or in office but closed to public) and see if they can make it work. Then just have a friend sign up online to marry you and get 'er done.

I also arrived on March 5th and we literally got our license at the clerk's office the day before they closed to the public. We still haven't signed it (have a special day planned in a week), but all we need to do now is sign it and mail it in, so fairly simple.

I'm not sure if that information is helpful, but hopefully things open up in the next couple months so you can do it in a less convoluted way! Congrats and good luck!

That's great to know.  Of course I'm refraining about making a joke involving multiple personalities since I've been working 30 hours straight.

My college buddy married my ex and I after completing some sort of online ‘reverend’ form. I can’t remember, but he might’ve had to pay $20 or $50. If you only need to have the wedding take place with the deadline and don’t need to have it processed, then you might be OK. I can’t remember all the details, but after we were married there was a form we had to complete with witness signatures and and then walk it down to the county office. Perhaps if you had the wedding and the form completed and signed, then once the county office opens you could submit it with the date of the actual marriage falling within the deadline.

By the way, never be impressed by someone if they tell tell you they’re a reverend. Becoming a reverend only takes 10 minutes.

The only thing that matters to USCIS is the date on the marriage license.  In the US there is usually a date on when the marriage license is issued and when it is recorded.  You can't get married before it is issued.   Getting the marriage license is an issue in some jurisdictions right now.

There was a marriage in New York a couple of days ago in the street, it was broadcast all over national media.  So it can be done even with the virus lockdown.  Good luck!

Thanks for the info, Amid the corona virus I’m not planing on doing a celebration, that can be done any other time when things get better, Don’t want to put family at risk, I just want to get married and the city clerk is CLOSED until further notice, so I can’t get married right now,

hopefully everything reopen soon before the 90 days period.
