These are the steps we received in order to get the visa re-issued in case unable to travel:

  1. Pay the $325 visa processing fee
  2. Obtain a new valid medical exam from the same panel physician clinic that previously evaluated you.  A new medical exam would require new payment to the panel physician.
  3. Submit your passport with expired visa and visa packet, if you have one, to the U.S. Embassy
  4. If expired, submit a new electronic visa application form (DS-260) and appear at the U.S. Embassy to resubmit your fingerprints and take the oath in front of a consular officer.

Now I don’t know what step 4 means because I didn’t know that the DS-260 even expired.

I was told by the embassy I would have to do medical AND interview again

did they say anything about DS-260/I 864 form? those took me so long to do so i'm hopeful that isn't the case.  is the interview in person? i wonder what the wait time for that would be now! or if there's any priority as it would be a re-issue and not the bakc of the line

thanks for letting us know.  is this from Pakistan embassy?  I didn't think the DS-260 expired either.  I don't mind that form, but the I-864 assets that goes with it is a nightmare!

Yup, Pakistan embassy. Yea I don’t mind doing the DS-260 either but I just think that reactivating it on the CEAC portal etc will be a hassle.

I just got a reply from the Australian consulate who would request a new medical, police check, and petitioners tax return.  That's not too bad, but also a visa fee of USD $325. hopefully it would be a quick turn around
