Hi ppeople,

We paid the AOS and IV fee on Monday and Thursday the CEAC showed payment status "PAID".

The AOS form is now available. My wife currently has a job in the US and earns well above the minimum limit. But this is her first year there and she will just file her 1st return. Prior to that she was living with me in Dubai and unemployed. So for the other 2 years should she write a letter explaining why there wont be returns?

Is there a need to look at joint sponsors to make the case stronger? Is it even possible? Strangely cant seem to find a lot of material on this.

Not necessary. They first and foremost care about annual income as of now. As long as that is good, you're fine.

Thanks! I get that. Was just wondering would it help our case if we still got a joint sponsor? Or will that just make them suspicious. Anyone get any experience with this.

It won't hurt your case, but should not be necessary for the UAE.  It would be for India.

I see. I think we are eligible to apply for the 1-864EZ form, which is simpler. I was worried having the joint sponsor might lead to additional scrutiny or complicate the review. Do you know of people who've been approved despite having only a year's tax filings, as long as the income is good?

I realise I might be being a little obsessive on this but just got started with the NVC and there just doenst seem to be clear guidance for some things. Thanks for your time!
