Good day everybody. Was checking our Form I-129f and we just realized we made a small mistake. :(

We put the wrong zipcode on the Petitioner's address (instead of 90806 we put 90801)? Will this affect our application?

Is there anyway to correct this?

Thanks. :)

Is there a way to change it? Getting anxious over here. 🤣 We're worried that if we get RFE or something they might send it to the wrong address. :(

If that typo was for your mailing address, then yes it can cause issues .. even if the post office catches the   it has to return any letter to USCIS as the post office is not allowed to forward mail from USCIS.

Once your case file is in the system at USCIS you can call them and ask now to request the correction, I am sure they will want something in writing, but at least you can get pointed in the correct direction.

This is what's exactly worrying me.

Will the postal service do this if ever they see the error? Thanks

If the post office doesn't have issue with the bad zip code and you receive the NOA1,  receipt.   But ...  mail from USCIS is marked clearly on the envelope to not forward.   It will be a wait n see ..

There is an easy way to fix your issue, but you will need the receipt number.    Did you complete the G-1145 to receive notifications?    If YES ...  Then you will be fine.

You go HERE and complete a change of address correcting your zip code issue  (it is that simple) >>   https://egov.uscis.gov/coa/displayCOAForm.do    (I would do this no matter just to get the zip corrected)

Zip code error corrections are not even close to mail forwarding.   Relax.  In fact, zip codes are actuslly obsolete and not even required

Once you know the case number you can call the uscis and get them to update it

Thanks for the replies guys. These made us relax a little bit 😁

Will wait for NOA1 and have it updated.
