I-751?

Am I totally off base here....someone in a different forum is saying that her husband filed the I-751 to get his greencard and that they didn't need to even have an interview.

I thought that when you get here you file the I-485 form and that you indeed need an interview?

I've read the guides over and over and I really think I'm right on this one but she said she just did this with her husband so am I missing something?

The I-751 is to lift conditions from a 2 year greencard (you get a 10 year greencard with the I-751). Meaning he already had to have had a greencard to begin with to be able to file the I-751. Not everyone who removes conditions is required to have another interview.

Also, there are many K1s and some K3s who have their I-485 transferred to CSC for faster processing. If someone is lucky to be transferred there, it usually means approval with no interview (look at the CSC transfers thread). Sometimes a file will get transferred to CSC and then transferred back to Missouri to have an interview scheduled with their district office.

That is the form for filing for lifting of conditions. This would mean that the person only got a a two year green card and had to file to lift conditions to get a ten year green card. The person would have gotten a two year green card if they received said card before they had been married two years.
