I am with my female fiance right now in HCMC vietnam and she got her visa in her hand on monday. This is the k1 visa.

I just bought both of our plane tickets to the USA using Kayak.com and here is what I noticed..

When I filled out her name on Kayak, there were 3 boxes for name

1. first name

2. middle

3. last name

her name on her passport and visa reads in this order: Nguyen Thi Mai

her last name is: Nguyen

middle name: Thi

First name: Mai

I typed in her name in the boxes correctly on kayak.

However, when we got the E-ticket her name reads in this order: Mai Thi Nguyen

We are departing from Tan Son Nhat international airport, are we going to have a problem when we check in?? please help us!!!

Won’t be a problem! Stop worrying. Everyone knows the name order is diff for Viets.

We never had an issue with western standard both internally and internationally  for flights.

Simple ticking errors like names out of order are not huge deals.  Many web sites mangle names even when typed in correctly.

I have a suffix - II (the second) and it hilarious how each airline screws up my name.  SmithII, Smith Ii, IISmith and other seemingly random orders.  I guess they never expect a last name with a space and a suffix.  Most US airlines will have a suffix field, but many do not.

Appreciate your concern, but more than 40% of Vietnamese have Nguyen as a family name.  "Thi" is the most common middle name for a female, and Mai is pretty common as well. Even if it is the real name, no way anyone could do anything with just that information.  Kinda like John Smith, only on steroids.
