This guide should be most beneficial for those going thru the process in Manila. When I was going thru the process last year, It would have to nice to have so much information in one place instead of having to search for it in various sources.

I've noticed there still is some confusion about the Visa Package after it's delivered by Delbros. Some aren't sure that it is ok to remove the plastic envelope covering the Passport with Visa and the brown envelope ( which you do not open). maybe something could be added to the guide addressing that issue.

Great point... I will work on that in the near future...

I've been searching thru VJ to see if the Embassy in Manila is still or ever was accepting direct consular filings. After reading & reading & reading this site and knowing my situation I feel it would be beneficial for me to marry my fiance in the Philippines and then proceed with DCF if that's possible along with all the other alphabet soup forms, etc. My situation is multiple marriages and a lingering IRS problem which should be solved in the next three months. Any thoughts?

Maybe I made an error and I need to go IR-1/CR-1 route. I'm still learning so have patience with me. Also I'm still learning about forums & such. The only thing I know about a thread is that it holds my clothes together! :). Thank you all again for sharing your experiences & advice. It's most helpful. God bless & good luck!

Bill and Joan...

Thanks a bunch! This has actually become a great hobby for me in developing the Guide. I noticed the void in information concerning the particulars of processing through the Manila Embassy and I wanted to fill it. I spend a lot of time researching the process before we were approved and I wanted to share all that I have learned/acquired. Plus, I don't want folks to have to struggle to find basic information.

I also want to thank everyone for their inputs, guidance, and help in making the Guide a viable tool.

Cheers!!!

hi sheriff I have a suggestion in 4.6 please just indicate there that the size of photo needed is 2x2 and remove passport photo to avoid confusion..for americans 2x2 and passport size photos are the same for you because in your passport it is also 2x2 photo (correct me if i'm wrong), but for Philippines our passport size photo is smaller than 2x2 so sometimes it creates confusion as to what size should we bring, passport size or 2x2 size?

thanks sheriff uling!

the opinions that i express in this website are my own and are not legal advise...thank you...

I actually had that statement in brackets next to passport photo. The update in Section 4.6 now reads, "On the medical exam appointment date, please don't forget to bring the medical exam fee (payment accepted in pesos only), passport (SLEC will keep the passport and delivery it to the USE along with the medical exam results), appointment letter (if NOT received by the beneficary, then see SLEC NOTE below), three 2x2 passport photos (the required dimensions of all passport photos are stated on page 8 of Packet 4, which is referenced in Section 4.3)."

Cheers!!!
