Two Biometrics Appointments

So I got my biometrics done last March 13 for I-485 and I-765 then right when I got home, I received a mail that I have another biometrics appointment scheduled for March 23 and this time for I-131. Does this usually happen? Anyway, I decided that I’ll just go and do it on the 23rd and now USCIS is temporarily closing in-person visits. I know most people does biometrics once. Should I contact USCIS about it this or should I just wait for further notice?

I called USCIS earlier today. The rep told me to mail USCIS the appointment letter with the stamp and a note that says I already did my biometrics. He also said biometrics should only be done once.

That’s so weird that are giving two different statements..i even ask the lady if there’s some confusion about me giving biometric again and she stated it’s different biometrics for the i131 ..mine is scheduled for the 26 of this month but obviously with closing their office i won’t be going.

When we did our biometric in Dec 2019 (Atlanta office), it stated it was for I485 and I765, then just 2 weeks ago, we also have an I797 that said I131 approved and the biometric was updated. I am assuming they took the one we did in Dec and updated in I131 as well. Kind of confusing.

I just received a notice update that the fingerprints were added to the i131 i guess they realized it’s not necessary to do it again...so i will just disregard the appointment for the 26 of March..hopefully you get the same email soon

Btw, did you do anything for them to update it or they just updated it themselves? Thanks.

Hey, this has also happened to me:

Sent an AoS application (I-485, I-765, I-131) in January, had my Biometrics appointment on Monday (3/16), and have today received a second Biometrics appointment notice for the I-131 (Travel Document), for early April.

I'm guessing this is just some kind of admin error? Wouldn't make sense to do it twice...

Hi Dijana, I just got the same situation. Received the second letter for I131 fingerprint. Would you please tell me how many days after you received the second letter then you saw the updates? My second appointment will be on April3, not sure if I could be lucky as you. I really don’t want to go there again.   Thanks!

Hi there, we are also in the same situation and we still haven't got any new updates, it still says my husband biometrics have been taken for I-485 and I-765 on march 5th. Second appointment was supposed to be on march 25th. Still waiting on the I-131 biometric update.. hopefully soon!
