I'm sorry. What do you mean?

You asked what process is being affected by covid 19.  Right now, its the consulate process.   Tomorrow,  this might all change.

YMMV

Consulate process. So this means the consulate in, for example, Japan. The process in dallas as far as taking the money and acceptance notices wont be effected?

If this worsens so bad that they have to close the Service Centers or Lockbox offices then yes, processing will also be affected. No one can predict that at this time.

Nor the adjudicating process in California.   As of today,  those parts are business as usual.

YMMV

I'm freaking out

Stay calm, this all will pass eventually.  No need to panic.  The K-1 process will likely take much longer than before the pandemic but no one knows by how many weeks or months.  It's no one's fault, stay connected virtually as much as you can, focus on your health and hope that the extreme measures being taken right now in the US slows the spread and helps this situation get resolved sooner than later.  Good luck!

A non-immigration visas is affected for interviews only at this time. We have heard nothing about a slow down or no work for the submission of the on-boarding process at the Dallas lock box. USCIS is still completing approvals of applications but at a much slower pace. NVC continues to assign case numbers and shipping case files to SOME embassy's but not all. Some embassies have asked NVC to hold them there until the embassy can catch up on what they have in house to process.

That is the latest news that I have been able to ascertain thus far. Of course, your mileage may vary.

I would expect much longer wait times for all steps of the process.

it seems logical that if the interviews are being put on hold this will back all future interviews. Which will eventually effect us all in the pipeline.  How we would we know if staffing levels at the California center are running at 50% or 100? or if they are working from home?   anyone know how many employees there are at the CA center ?

no country is to be blame... it could've been your country or others who started... stop the finger pointing...

It doesn't matter what country it was BUT it could have been handled better and not swept under the rug to start with.

No one here would know the day-to-day logistics or workflow of any of the service centers, or what their contingency plan is, unless it is made public on USCIS.gov.
