I just want ask, with this corona virus affected everybody. US President have advised that they will provide aid to Adult Americans. would that mean that LPR who are also paying taxes will not receive any aid on this current situation?!

Just asking.

Historically these types of aid bills have given funds as tax rebates, so LPR's would qualify. They could conceivably also tie it to social security data if they want to send out checks, which would also probably make LPR's eligible. That said, I don't think the exact details of the plan have been released yet, so it's hard to say for sure.

They do make it confusing. I have see several news articles saying it will be for all tax payers, but I have also seen a few saying it's only for US citizens. The last 2 times they have passed a stimulus bill, LPR's were included since is was tied to tax status. I hope they include LPR's in this one. It doesn't make sense to exclude tax paying legal residents from the bill.

What about citizens living outside of the country?

The last time they did this it was tied to your tax return. So if you are filing taxes while you are abroad...maybe. But who knows this time around...

Finally done...

Right now it is tied to your 2018 tax returns. $1200 per individual earning <$75k, $2400 per couple filing jointly. Aid will phase out for incomes above $75k, with a cap of $99k. If you did not have federal tax liability in 2018, I think you would receive $600. The final numbers and when it will be distributed is still being discussed.

“US Citizens, US Nationals, and US lawful permanent residents” is a mouthful and tedious.

Is the 99k cap for single or for married people?

Do you have a link that has the details? It has been difficult to find anything specific on this.
