Why would they grant temporary visas for beneficiaries to come the the U.S to interview when there is a literal ban on travel from almost everywhere in the world to the U.S. at the moment? Did you think this through at all?

These are not normal times and immigration is on the bottom of the list for the government right now. There world is trying to stop the spread of a global pandemic.

I think some people are skipping ahead on that part. I really don't think governments even have the ability to look at how to get back to "normal" right now. They are putting everything they have into stopping things from getting worse. Getting back to normal will come at some point, but it's very hard to put a number on when that will be right now.

I think we are going to see a lot of venting on the forum for the next couple of months. Maybe we should try to take it easy on them. I know if I were in their place I would be extremely frustrated...

Finally done...

What if this goes on for 60 days, 160 days, 260 days, 360 days, 600 days, etc?

When does “not an option” become an option?

Ask the people who go on AP for 2 or more years. DHS just doesn’t compromise on security.

The voters don’t actually care if people from Pakistan, Nigeria, etc get 2 years of AP.

They will care if green card holders are denied naturalization.  And so will federal judges since naturalization is a constitutional right.

I was not authenticated against my finger prints when I had my naturalization interview. So I don’t see what the difference is.

Naturalization  candidates can due a video call from the office of an attorney who is present. I’ve had my deposition taken over video conference at law office. The standard of security would therefore be  no worse than it is today. It could in fact be better if the lawyer took finger prints, compared them against the green card and sent copies of the same over email during the interview.  USCIS can then re-verify the biometrics.

You missed the point dude. Can’t be bothered explaining.

as an aside, curious why you think voters don’t care when their family members waiting for immigrant visas are put on AP for so long.

Such a curious state of affairs, that a voter apparently doesn't care when their family members get stuck away from them on AP for a year or two before being able to immigrate, but then that voter magically cares a few years later when that same immigrant, now here and with them, may take a few months longer than otherwise to naturalize.  LOL some people here are so amusing.

there will be no Skype interviews for naturalization.
