Hi everyone,

Not sure if this is posted in the correct forum. Just curious to know if anyone has travelled with their spouse or fiance as they make their POE into the US with the newly granted visa?

I know that the custom area is divided into sections for American Citizens and for foreigners. Will they allow you to stay with spouse or make you wait outside of the customs area?

Anyone know???

My wife and I traveled together, she is the USC. We were directed to the USC line and she was allowed to come into secondary examination with me. In fact as well as saying to me "Welcome to America" the immigration officer said to my wife "Welcome Home" which was very nice of him.

I noticed that other people in the secondary examination waiting room had family members with them too.

What to expect at the POE - WIKI entry

slbois,

No, it isn't. At least not in any international airport that I've been through.

The immigration area is divided, though, with some lines designated for citizens and LPRs and other lines designated for visitors. And spouses or fiance/fiancee couples can go through the same line together.

Well, these "lines" are roped off into sections for internationals and citizens. That's what I was referring to.

slbois,

Yes - in the immigration area. Not in the customs area.

Two different functions.

My husband went through the USC line with me. The officer made a semi-rude comment until I told him that my husband was emigrating here. Then he was kind and directed us on where to go next...

11/2004 - Met in Brazil

09/2006 - Apply for K1

03/2007 - K1 approved

04/2007 - Apply for AOS & EAD

07/2007 - EAD approved

01/2008 - Conditional Residency approved

11/2009 - Apply to remove conditions

02/2010 - Permanent Residency approved

11/2010 - Apply for Citizenship

03/2011 - Citizenship approved

07/2011 - Moved back to Brazil
