Hi guys. So i wanna share my experience with you guys. My sis had an interview in November 2019 at US embassy Islamabad and she was approved without any 221g form issued and no additional documents were asked. VO said she will get her visa in 2 weeks But then she was put into Administrative Processing for almost 4 months. Her status update date changed like 6/7 times. On march 3 her ceac status changed to “Refused” which was really panicking but later on we found that it was systemwide change and everyone who was in administrative processing was now showing Refused status. On march 17, 2020 her status changed from Refused to Administrative Processing again and next day visa was issued. So i have come to a conclusion that After the interview “Refused” is new term and once you are cleared you will be put into “Administrative Processing” status for short period of time right before issuance of your visa. Good luck everyone.

Makes sense.  AP should be used for just when they are actually affixing the visa to the passport and finalizing all the paperwork.

Good Luck!
