Hi everyone,

Just to let you know, Amed called the embassy in Algiers today to schedule an interview. It's going to be THIS Sunday, April 2!!!!! I am so nervous! Does anyone have any tips for me?

We're very excited that we got an appointment so quickly. We were hoping to be together for our Birthdays (both the first week of May), and now that might happen! We're keeping our fingers crossed!

I have a wee little bit of advice... TELL HIM TO TAKE EVERYTHING HE CAN POSSIBLY THINK OF WITH HIM. If you've followed my thread of the last week you would understand why I'm laughing as I write this. But seriously, be sure he takes every little shred of paper with him because that "second chance" is not easy in coming.

06/04/09 - called Customer Service - in regards to not receiving bio appointment

06/13/09 - received letter in regards to my inquiry to Customer Service - stating husband had recently missed biometric appointment (never received a notice in mail) - going to be rescheduled - letter dated 06/05/09

06/17/09 - received Notice for biometrics appointment - dated 06/12/09

06/26/09 - Biometrics Appointment - St. Albans, VT

08/20/09 - Received Interview Appointment Letter

10/05/09 - Interview - Albany, NY- PASSED

10/23/09 - Oath Ceremony - Fort Edward, NY

01/28/10 - applied for US Passport

02/19/10 - received back naturalization certificate

02/22/10 - received US Passport

Thanks everyone for your wishes and your tips. I think we have thought of most everything. We have lots of pictures of the time we lived together in Paris, pictures of us with various family members/friends over a 4 year time period, letters and cards we've sent each other, a postcard my friend sent me from Paris the first time she met him, phone card printouts, e-mail printouts, a letter from my mom who was there when we got engaged, the engagement ring receipt, photos of the engagement, etc. He has a scrapbook I made for him, letters he received from my sister, and mixed cds I made for him. We have gone over potential questions they may ask. We know where we stand on family, friends, travel, money, religion, etc. He's met most of my family, we chat on the phone twice daily, and we've known each other for 4 1/2 years. I am hoping that everything is going to go smoothly!

just waiting, I hope everything goes well this time with your fiance's visa. I know it must be nerve-wracking to be given the run-around like you've been through. Stay positive, and think of the end result. I know the only thing that keeps me going some days is thinking of how great it will be to see him walking up to me at the airport.

06/15/09 - Citizenship interview

07/15/09 - Citizenship ceremony. Alhamdulilah, the US now has another american muslim!
