Death of Petitioner-CR1

Hey Guys,

is there someone in this group who have the same case as mine? Im CR1 beneficiary. My case is currently at NVC. I sent them the death certificate of my late husband last Dec 15, 2019. still waiting for response.

My questions are:

1-Does the NVC will just convert my approved I-130 to I-360? As what I have read, mostly likely it will be. However, other agent told me that NVC might return my case to UCSIS to reinstatement. NVC agent not sure about my case..

2-I was also informed by the NVC agent that I will be needing a substitute sponsor since my main petitioner dies and I told her that, as a widoer of a u.s citizen, we are exempted for AOS. We will fill up form I-864W instead of I-864. I don't know why these people are not familiar with immigration process.

3-Last time I call with NVC- they says that they will send my case to a supervisor for review.. I dont know if I can received an update from them within 2-4weeks.

Thanks to share your thoughts.

It should be done automatically, things were slow beforehand and of course now they are really slow. Sounds like you spoke to what is commonly known on here as the Misinformation Line, seems they are contract workers with very little Immigration knowledge. They basically read from a script but do not always know which bits to read.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

This is what I am expecting actually however I am not convince with the nvc agent as they have different answers which are not sure too.. I dont know whats gonna happen with my case until when I should wait for nvc to decide about it.

I always call them once a week to ask for a status but im getting the same answer to wait for their update.. it really sucks that I cannot get an accurate/exact answer.

Maybe none of this group has the same case as mine.
