According to the NVC our case was shipped today so, with any luck the interview will be in the next 2 weeks.  Thx again

I've been monitoring this thread as I'm interested in the outcomes of packets shipped 'post' COVID shutdown specifically with the Sydney Consulate...  Looking at your timeline you received your NOA2 mid February, the NVC got it 2nd week of March and approx 6 weeks later it was shipped from the NVC.  I'm relieved to know that they are in fact still sending the packets out...assuming the same sort of timeline for us (and yes *my mileage may vary*) that means I might see the packet in early July...and hopefully by then we will be back to 'the new normal' and able to interview, etc...  I mean that would be absolutely amazing really...but I'm also not holding my breath either...

Those that applied for an emergency interview, how long did it take to get a response from the consulate?

I have sent an email requesting an emergency interview and its been 7 days with no reply. The auto response email says it should be 1-2 days

The first time I sent it, they actually missed my email so I sent a follow up one week later to ask for a response. After that follow up email, they responded around 2 days later. They're pretty swamped right now, so if you haven't heard anything after a week I would email them asking for an update. Good luck!

@KittyKat3072 what reason for exemption did you apply for?  There are several to choose from, we appreciate the help.  Since you aren't returning what did you put in for the return date?

He used the "People who are travelling on urgent and unavoidable personal business."

Are you able to tell me what you said in the email or private message me? It would be very appreciated!

He said that he was looking to schedule an emergency interview. That his fiance needs to return to the workforce and that his fiance has been taking care of her family member with a heart condition. He said he was looking for an interview asap.   We didn't have to submit any evidence of the heart condition or anything.

Email them again, it took us two emails to get a response as well. We waited 2 weeks to email again but in hindsight we should have emailed sooner.  After the second email they called him (in Australia) two days later and asked him if he was able to come in for an interview.

Thank you! I am going to apply for an emergency interview. I am not sure whether I want to apply now or wait and see what the additions to the EO are first. I don't want to be caught out and not be able to travel and have visa expire due to a ban.

@KittyKat3072 How long was after the interview did it take to get the passport and visa back?  Thx again for the help, if the referenced package in the DHL hack is ours, it's sitting in Sydney which means the interview is coming very soon.
