I'm talking about interviews, not flights.

Apologies. Most of us have been talking about exemptions for quite some time so I assumed you were too.

When did they say they would get back to you?

They haven’t. I originally applied a month ago for the 14th of July as that’s when I fly. That became too stressful to wait so last week I applied for the 7th. I’ve heard nothing both times. I called on Friday and the lady was super nice and with my situation she got permission from her supervisor to send it on directly. She said to just wait for the email.

i haven’t heard anything from the actual people at all..

It's the weekend and I doubt you would hear anything back today. Keep your mind busy and start packing and have as many things ready as you can.

I have seen others get approval on a weekend but you could be right.

I am packed! My belongings have shipped and everything else is in suitcases which has been very challenging for my three year old. Just doing last minute selling now.

I think what makes my anxiety worse is I don’t want a late minute rejection. I paid $800 each for the two flights and now they’re $3700 each if I have go another day. USD. I can’t afford that..

@Cilllah Maybe you could give them a call and see what the go is? they might have spelt your email incorrect in the reply or maybe the reply was filtered into your spam folder?
I hope you do hear from there though!

@AussieBoy87 According to the Us embassies reopen phase plan the Sydney embassy won't be conducting interviews again till at least all Australia domestic borders are open and even then there will be a backlog. If you have a case number from the NVC you could try to get your case exempt and go for an emergency interview.
Otherwise pull up a chair and join the waiting the game.

Well then I can kiss my job offer in the USA goodbye.

I called them on Friday in which they escalated my case and I called them today when they said it hasn't been looked at and all I can do is wait. So I have been trying! Today they said my case hasn't been looked at yet.

Well up until 6 days ago we we're looking good for a late July reopen but now with Victoria's spike in cases who knows when SA and WA will open up.

@Cilllah Is your tonight or tomorrow? Cause I was reading an article over the weekend about the exemptions where some people have reported they didn't get word till like 14 hours till their flight. I've got my fingers crossed for you.

Early tomorrow morning. I can deal with a last minute approval but I will not cope with a last minute rejection!

Wow that's incredibly stressful. I hope you heard back in time. I couldn't even deal with that anxiety. Let us know how you go

I didn’t. I haven’t heard back and that flight is gone. I call and they won’t help. I’ve contacted two MP today who’ve said they’ve enquired for me. I don’t know what else to do. I feel so defeated. I haven’t been denied or asked for more evidence or anything..
