I don't understand why they won't even give a projected date for when interviews will start.

This is what makes it so hard. We can't plan.

With the new EO looming I am so worried about my K1 visa again. I hope we aren't included. I can't move any faster with my K2 and no exemption yet.

I would think that even if it does include k-1 I doubt it would prevent people who already have a visa from coming into the States.

I hope so but you never know with the current situation. Could be an outright ban.. I just need to survive this EO and I should be good.

I know how you feel!

That's why we tried to hurry and get it done as fast as possible too. It's like living in a suspenseful, awful movie, except the outcome is your life and happiness.

It's just a crazy, unpredictable and unbelievable world we are living in. I swear the last 8 months if not longer have been a dream.

It definitely is! I am trying my best. I am working on selling my car this week and my belongings ship. A local MP is contacting the border to hopefully speed up approval of my exemption but not sure how that will go. I can't move sooner without it but I also have my K2 and her father isn't too keen on her moving sooner but would allow it. I leave in three weeks which is normal circumstances seems SO soon but with the current one it feels so long.

Exactly!

Three weeks seems like no time at all. But with the world now and trump, it feels like every day is a week.  It's a guessing game what horrible surprise comes next. :(

What shipping company did you end up going with? We still have a bunch of stuff in Australia that still needs shipping.

Yeah I wish I wasn't moving during a pandemic but of course I still feel lucky!

After contacting a lot of people I went with OSS World Wide Movers!

I want your guys opinions. There was a MP who was talking about exemptions and I emailed her my case and my proof and she sent it to the right place and they just replied to her with this which she showed me.

"Dear Priscilla,

We are sorry to hear of the distress the travel restrictions are causing. I sent your email to the Department of Home Affairs and received the following response:

Thank you for your enquiry on behalf of Zali Steggall concerning Ms Priscilla.

While we appreciate that delays in receiving a response to a request are concerning to intending travellers, the area responsible for processing travel exemption requests is currently receiving very high numbers of requests. As a result, at this point we are only escalating cases where there are strong compassionate grounds. In other cases, we are advising clients that they should wait for a response and that this may only be received very close to their intended travel date. To manage expectations, please advise Ms that the nature of travel exemption requests means that the majority of applicants have compassionate circumstances and many also need to travel urgently, for example due to an unexpected serious illness of an immediate family member or to attend a funeral.

During the period that they are waiting for a response, we would also recommend that Ms review the evidence that she has provided in support of their request and ensure that it sufficiently addresses one of the grounds for exemption. Although not all requests will be approved as there are limited grounds for granting an exemption, we are finding that a common reason for requests not to be successful is that the applicant has failed to provide sufficient evidence in support of the grounds claimed.

I hope this helps Priscilla."

So should I be worried that my proof isn't good enough as that is my current worry? I submitted 20 documents and a 1000 word reason as to why. Now I am worried they were saying it isn't good enough but I am hoping it is just a generic response. What do you guys think? I can't think of anything else to add anyway..

One thing is they used my last name from my email address but not my legal last name so I wonder if they even looked at my application. I actually kind of hope not then my evidence might not be that bad.

Sorry for the third post but. I am thinking of submitting a duplicate exemption but with my fly date in a week. Just so I get an answer sooner. Still leave on my original date. Is there any harm in having two active with different dates? Or should I just wait and hope for the best?
