Thank you!

I think I’m mainly OK. Just wondering if it’s actually OK to put an earlier travel date? I’m leaving July 14th and want as much notice as possible to prepare my family.

I put an earlier date and stated i needed to travel ASAP. They never looked at my flight bookings or anything and I was approved. I think if all your other evidence is sorted you’ll be fine.

Just got an expedite approval email from the NVC. Applied May 27th.

Now we get to stress out about the fact that I mailed my husband documents for the interview and they're stuck in transit, and then getting a travel exemption. One step closer to being together thousand it feels great!

Congratulations! I’ve heard that the post is gradually getting better so hopefully his paperwork comes back soon. Take one step at a time and he’ll be with you soon! Good luck!

Did the expedite request come from the NVC, or from the Consulate?  I have emailed the consulate asking them to request the file from the NVC, because I think that's all I can do from a K-1 standpoint.  I'm hoping to get good news this week, but I'm not entirely confident that 'my fiancee needs me to take care of her kids when she goes back to work next month while the normal summer camps and usual child services are unavailable due to COVID' will be enough of a 'reason' for an emergency interview. 😬

Thanks guys! I might put an earlier date but then should I not use my booked flights as additional proof that I am moving?

Also, my CEAC status updated to refused. I knew it would. I was told I was approved as long as the medical is fine when they receive it and that I will be fine to fly when I want to etc he seemed certain and I wasn't worried and I have seen it go to refused for others whilst waiting for documents but I am bummed out. Hopefully it gets there fast so it can change to approved! It should have been there today. He said by the end of next week the visa should be issues so hopefully.

Did you manage to figure out if the medical was sent directly to the Consulate? Don't be bummed out - you were approved pending the medical and you know that's on it's way. Once they have it, it'll be quickly sent to you.

You can use the flights as proof but I'm just saying that it wasn't necessary in my case. I just said my plans are to travel on this date and I will purchase the ticket pending approval. You can have other evidence like your shipping invoices, cancellation of services, etc. to prove that you're moving permanently. In your circumstance, I would highly recommend you tell them you're intended date is earlier than when you really expect to leave since you have your parents to consider.

Yeah the medical centre replied to me. They said they sent it on Thursday. Which means it only had 2 days to get there as my interview was 9am Tuesday. So I am not surprised that it didn't make it. I have just been looking at so many threads here and everyone else seemed to get put into AP when they were missing a document so it's scary mine went to refused. He legit said nothing for me to do as they will just wait for the medical but now I can't stop thinking about it.

Thanks I will do that!

I initially requested the expedite with the consulate directly and was instructed to go through the NVC (we were DQ'd on May 4th). So, our approval came from the NVC email but ultimately it's still up to the consulate.

I sent an email to support-australia@ustraveldocs.com requesting an emergency appointment. Was this the right email to contact?

That is the email I sent it to and the email that the NVC says to email. I emailed them last Saturday and have not yet received a reply yet. I have sent a follow up email today.

I just checked and my refused status changed to application received and immigrant visa to non-immigrant visa so I think they will be issued early next week. Very exciting. I have started to collect my documents to leave.

I do have a question though. I have been packing and I think I will have around 20-25 boxes when I am done. Did any of you guys use shipping companies to move things. If so do you have any advice? I am looking at Upakweship.

Yay that’s great news! I think you’ll have your visa in hand soon.

With that many boxes is it more economical to ship a cube? I think they’re like mini shipping containers you can fill up. I only shipped 6 boxes via sevenseas.

I looked at using them but they don't ship door to door and I want someone who will deliver to where I will be in SD! Upakweship does do cubes!
