Thanks! I will look at that one. Since my three year old is coming with me I want to make it as simple as possible. I am surprised that they were so full. Did you have to show any paperwork to fly or were you just allowed to? Not sure how strict they are with the lockdown etc!

Oh do you mind letting me know how your interview and travel goes as I am not long after you? :)

Wow a week! I am hoping to just do the overnight  - especially with my three year old. I will look at that hotel too! Did you have nay issues flying or need to show any proof?

No, it was really straight forward! Not one asked why i was going to Sydney and what I was doing there. I had all my paper work with me, expecting someone would ask!

Does the consulate know that your child is coming with you? I would let them know just to be sure that you won't have any issues with security.

Also congrats on the interview!

He flew with Qantas on the way there and Jetstar on the way back to Melbourne. He stayed in the Travelodge Martin place, as well. No issues at the airport or in Sydney with travelling.

In the email they sent me they said "This office has granted you an emergency appointment and we have scheduled an appointment for a visa interview for you and your child in the Visa section in Sydney." So I assume that they know! My only issue is that I am the only one listed as traveling applicant. Although she is listed in the visa category section. I already emailed them to double check she is all good and will get her visa too!
Thank you! I might look into Travelodge too. I always worry that Jetstar/Tiger were really untrustworthy and canceled a lot. But it looks like I will have to fly Jetstar down and Qantas back.

My brain. Of course they know they are coming because they are going with you to the States. Sorry, I had a long weekend and I had just woke up.

Imo, I'm sure they won't cancel at this stage, they need money.

No worries! I am so nervous now for different reasons.

My biggest issue is I don't know what my fiance should write on his i134 now as he is furloughed (we have a joint sponsor so it's fine). No one seems to have an answer.

Flights booked. I have to get there the day before and leave the day after. The site glitched and charged me twice. I finally got my refund approved but they said it could take up to six months to see my money. It's their fault so I am annoyed lol. Jetstar both ways. Otherwise it would have been crazy expensive.

Got my passport photos for the visa. My daughter looks fine but you can just see her hand in the bottom. Aus Post person said it was fine so I hope it will be. That's my progress for the day.

I had no trouble getting into NSW for the interview but i was required to apply for a border pass and have proof to reenter QLD.

Border Pass to enter Queensland again? What proof did you have?

Current plan is to fly to the US next Saturday....come on travel exemption!

I'm on my 4th submission at this point :(

I keep getting rejected for lack of evidence despite giving an absurd amount of proof. I have left my job and my accommodation, i'm staying with my parents.

I'm due to fly out on Tuesday and i still haven't heard anything yet.  I'm going crazy just siting here waiting for the confirmation. this is the final step to a two year wait. last thing i need is for my own government to trip me up.

I have read that most people are not finding out until the night before or morning of their travel date. and some aren't getting it until after their flight . someone posted on the website ill link below, that he never got a reply he called home affairs from the airport and they gave him a verbal approval. He then had to go to the border officers and they had to look it up on the computer system. overall is seems like a cluster F, and its entirely up to the officer reviewing your case and with little to no guidelines.

@Harley999999 it's been almost 2 days now and she gave a ton of info as well.  I am not sure what else we can do other than to keep trying.  How long has it been between answers for you?

I applied the afternoon my visa was approved (12-may ) and the responded the next morning saying i needed more info. And since then a few days between each response. The response email included a list of additional info which didn't have anything on it that i hadn't already submitted so that was very frustrating.

You guys are worrying me. I wonder if they will be even stricter with me as I am leaving with child. More scared of this than my interview.

Do you mind sharing that list of additional info? :)
