Mexico Halts Visa Processing

Same. Their response is infuriating too, although I understand there's a lot of uncertainty involved. 

 

Their response so far is this will basically just be treated like we did not show up for the interview and have to reschedule, instead of them rescheduling it based on them cancelling it.

Just called again (the number you gave for the consulate is actually the same number as I've been calling for AIS), and was told that even though "appointments are 100% canceled", they will be sending emails to people who they want to still come in for the interview - if this is us we will have to do the fingerprints in the consulate at Juarez on the same day. 

 

They said if you don't want to wait for them to email you either way, you can reschedule....but currently no available dates and likely to be a complete mess when they do open up.

Sadly I have never had good luck so ill doubt I will. My only hope is that so many people have already started rescheduling that we would be among the few still left with close enough dates to still get called in.

I wouldn't count on that unfortunately. Try to reschedule, it's not an option. I don't believe anyone currently affected by this has been able to reschedule.

Got our cancellation notice via email yesterday.

Debido al brote global del COVID-19, a partir del 18 de marzo del 2020, el Consulado General de los Estados Unidos en Ciudad Juárez ha suspendido sus servicios regulares de solicitud de visas hasta nuevo aviso.

Su cita de entrevista de solicitud de visa de inmigrante y la cita en el Centro de Atención a Solicitantes han sido canceladas. No acuda a estas citas.

Lamentablemente, usted recibió un mensaje invitándolo a registrarse para una entrevista de visa de inmigrante en el Consulado General de los Estados Unidos y una cita para captura de fotos y huellas en el Centro de Atención a Solicitantes (CAS) previamente a que las citas fueran canceladas.

No es necesario que usted tome ninguna acción con respecto a su trámite por el momento. Una vez que el Consulado General en Estados Unidos restablezca sus operaciones, usted será contactado para reprogramar su cita de entrevista. Just got this email last night too. 😞 Hopefully the last part means they will reschedule an earlier date than August or September for us since they told us “You don”t need to take no action.”
