Can't spend a check if everything is shut. If we get such a check it's going into savings and not moving. $1000 can't even pay a lot of American's mortgages or rent.

1000 per person and 500 per child once in April and another May - so 6K.  I am in midst of home improvements projects so it will be spent.

    I understand, they do want to get this one out as fast as possible, even if some of it goes to people who don't need it. The priority was getting it to people who do need it as fast as possible.

    I know the food bank here takes monetary donations so that would be something to look into. I wouldn't say I have given it much thought yet.

    Republicans giving "free" money and Democrats holding it up? That was the one thing on my bucket list that I didn't think I'd ever get to see.

She doesn't think it's enough.. and to be fair it's not. Elderly and poor persons would get significantly less than $1200 that McConnell is proposing.
