As you all know a dozen countries are closing embassies. Which means, interview scheduled are canceled with no future dates

For, those who had their country embassy close, did you receive email of cancellation of interviews?

if so, what’s the details.

Embassy in Jamaica is closed. I was unable to make my appointment because no dates are available

They will reschedule. All we can do it just and wait.

Adeal, just curious, how do you know for a fact that it is up to them to reschedule us instead of us having to rebook our interviews?

They will probably give u dates to choose from and u choose the date that u want. On my profile, there’s the option to select the next available appointment, as well as the available appointment that u prefer, there’s also an option to cancel/reschedule.

Colombia Embassy:

As of March 17, the United States Embassy in Bogotá is canceling all non-emergency visa appointments  Please do not come to the Embassy or Applicant Service Center. We will resume routine visa services as soon as possible but are unable to provide a specific date at this time. The MRV fee is valid and may be used for a visa application in the country where it was purchased within one year of the date of payment. To reschedule your appointment for a future date, please visit our website (https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-co/niv), sign in to your user account, select the “Continue” option, and follow the system instructions under the “reschedule appointment” action.

If you have an emergency reason for immediate travel, such as: medical treatment in the United States, and emergency business meeting, or other humanitarian reason, you must first reschedule your original appointment for any available day; then, you may request an emergency appointment by following these instructions: https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-co/niv/information/faqs#need_earlier_appt.

My Fiancé was supposed to have his K1 visa interview at the embassy in Paris 4/15/20 which was canceled. They sent him a email about  rescheduling the first date available was June 3rd so he chose that one.

thanks for sharing. Not bad for Paris. There is someone from Sweden who are allowing only spouses of US citizen interview.  Maybe some embassy are giving priorities to CR1/IR 1 categories.

It appears that the same policy was adopted by the US Embassy in London. My fiance was scheduled to interview on March 30 for his K-1 visa, but has not received a cancellation notice yet. Best of luck to everyone in the final stages. I hope this is just a short delay. Following is the notice posted on the US London Embassy website:

UPDATE: As of March 17, 2020, the United States Embassy in London is cancelling routine nonimmigrant visa appointments and reducing immigrant visa appointments, and no visa appointments will take place at the Consulate in Belfast. We will resume routine visa services as soon as possible but are unable to provide a specific date at this time.

If you have scheduled a visa interview appointment, the Visa Appointment Service will contact you if your appointment is being postponed. The MRV fee is valid and may be used for a visa application in the country where it was purchased within one year of the date of payment.
