Has anyone managed to get a reply from London embassy that isn’t just a copy & paste of the FAQ on their webpage? It’s frustrating that there are so many enquiries they don’t seem to be addressing

You are lucky to get any reply at all.  The bare embassy staff isn't there to handle enquiries from visa holders.   They are there to handle the needs of US Citizens.

My understanding is that their operatives not physically at the embassy are working from home

I’m in New Zealand, currently awaiting an interview for K1. Lock down has lifted but can confirm the embassy is still not processing visas here. Not sure when they will be.

I'm seeing several K-1 interviews in June cancelled which could possibly mean that consulates/embassy isn't going to open in June.

I know they may differ country by country and I really really hope I'm wrong.

Montreal embassy has been holding my fiance's passport since March after the interview, I wonder how long they can just keep it there, seems odd.

But this is an extraordinary time I guess.

I know a lot of wives/husbands and fiances are separated during this time with anxiety, wondering when they'll be able to see each other.

I really wish everyone luck and hope that this will soon be over. I'm with all of you guys! 🤞

Wow!! This is great news. I wish you guys the best and I hope all goes well. I wish i could do this but I dont know what reason could I use being that I am the petitioner who filed for my spouse to come live in the US and then where my husband lives their are only 23 active cases as of now. So im not sure if I would be allowed to even expedite it.

Do you live alone in the US? Living alone during the pandemic is a reason for applying for expedite. Your husband could provide you with emotional support and care if you fall ill with Covid19 if he is allowed to join you in the US. Let the embassy tell you if this is enough of a reason or not.

What reasons are valid for an emergency appoitment ?

You need to make a case for "emergency and hardship". Then it's up to the individual embassy if they agree with you and thus approve it or not.

I sent an email a few days ago asking for an expedite to my fiance's application in the Philippines, but the embassy replied that they have suspended all visa processing. I mentioned that my fiance had already done the interview, and they just needed some documents. Back to waiting.

I wonder if K-1's from the Schengen area or other countries included in proclamations 9992, 9993 and 9996 can actually be expedited. Does anyone have knowledge of whether this is possible?

I am included in that area and had my visa issued prior to covid but have been prevented from entering under the ban. I have tried to get a wavier for entry still as I will shortly be homeless as I was right at the point of moving to the US when the proclamation took affect. I have been told the only way to get a wavier is if CDC could confirm I do not pose a risk of transmitting covid (under Section 2a(ix) exceptions). We then tried contacting them to ask and they said they are ‘not in a position to determine the level of risk that may be posed by individual travelers in these countries who seek a Section 2a(ix) waiver.’

so literally tried everything and no joy. My visa expires next week :(.

I am very sorry to hear that.

I would immediately contact the local Senators' offices and explain the situation to them. Maybe they can help - if they are willing.

This also seems to be evidence showing that K-1's may not be able to be expedited due to the referenced proclamations. Wondering if anyone has tried that yet?

We are trying to get an expedite for K1. We wrote to the DoS but got no answer. Once we get an answer from the embassy, I will let me you know what answer we got 🙂

Sorry if this is a silly question but how would an expedite help if, under the proclamation, people who have been in banned countries 14 days prior aren’t permitted to enter the US? Unless it’s a spousal visa I suppose ? :)
