Reda will be here Tuesday night and I am feeling the time crunch. No way I will be able to do all I want to before he gets here. Did any of you do anything in particular or special for your SO for their arrival?

My husband was suppose to arrive on Thursday evening, but did not. I had plans for us to go to Benihanas. He would have loved it. After arriving the next day, we had a quiet early dinner at Flat Top Grill. Upon arriving home, he relaxed while we exchanged presents.

The following day, he attended his welcome to America wine/cheese reception at an art gallery. It was ver nice. My friends and family welcomed him with open arms. Then shopping, shopping, and more shopping the following days.

 Well Yeah i had so many plans to have things done and well I am here to say that I wish I was more liek Julianna  So I will only have a few things ready for Friday when we come home, her arrives Thursday night at 10:50 pm and we are staying in San Francisco in a suite my sister-in -law booked for us.

I did get a new bedding set and will put on the bed Thursday morning.

Cleaned out the closet and really hope he doesn'tgf have much stuff to hang :hehe:

Cleaned out the dresser in the spare room so that he can have that

Put all my shoes in the hanging shoe bags and boxes ( I didn't realize I own 64 pairs of shoes)

Got basic tolietries for him

Cleaned the bathroom and made room for him to put his stuff

Hung the new curtains and sheers in the living room and rearragned

Yeah so after being single and living alone so long I guess I didn't realize I didn't have room for someone elses stuff anywhere in my bedroom or the bathroom. I scraficed alot trying to make room  Thank God for the spare room cos he will be able to have his own room :lol::lol: I am sure we will be able to find a way to make it work.

Hope you are able to get more done then I have accomplished so far but I will work for the next few days to get more done.

Not trying to pick but.... what on earth could you need so many pairs of shoes for???:D

I think I have 3 pairs that I wear regularly, plus one that I wear every once in a while.

I wouldn't mind having a few more pairs but I'm so picky about shoes that it's hard to find any I like.

But... I couldn't imagine even finding the space for that many pairs of shoes.

Anyways... sorry to go off topic, and honestly it wasn't meant to be mean, I'm just surprised.

When I thought my fiance would be able to come over on a B visa and we had been making plans for it, I bought a pair of egyptian cotton sheets. I was saving them for when he was here, but that was supposed to be a year ago.

I can't bring myself to use them and I guess I'll just keep saving them. It seems like a waste in some regard, but...

I hadn't done anything major at that point but I imagine there's lots I would do if he was coming.

It must be so exciting planning for it and imagining him in your home. :luv:

Allah tries his chosen people through many hardships, but those who persevere through adversity, surrendering themselves before the will of Allah, shall be blessed with a superb reward.

-The Prophet Muhammad (SAW), as reported by Anas bin Malik

A time will come when the sky is torn apart; when the stars scatter, and the ocean drains away; and when the graves are tossed about, and laid open. At that time every man will be told what he has done, and what he has failed to do; and every woman will be told what she has done, and what she has failed to do.

Exciting and stressful when it is so quick. I too have made room in my closet, emptied some drawers and made space in the bathroom. I will have his cell phone charged and ready for him. I still need to get some groceries so he will have something to eat while I am work. I know I won't get everything I want done completed. I'll just be glad that he is here. Finally! I have 2 things that I am going to get him. Sorry, but I can't post tjhat here bc he reads here as well as a few people he is friends with and they will report back to him. But other than that...not much else. I better shut this pc off and get outta here to get some of those things done.

I need to buy a bigger house. Seriously...we only have ONE bathroom and with three girls (four if you count the cat) .

Other than that...I was thinking of looking at winter clothes sales. I would estimate he'd be here around November/December and although he has some turtlenecks he really has NOTHING that will prepare him for our winter weather and especially the snow.

I did win an extra large black fleece north face-type jacket for him at work so that's one thing off the list.

Oh and I'll have to hire some dump guys to come haul half of the stuff in my basement and garage away.:lol:

Doodle, do you have a dump nearby? The one in my city will let you dump for free if you live in the city, or if it's under a certain weight. Unless it's tv's or something.

It might be cheaper for you to rent a pickup or something and just haul it yourself if your dump doesn't charge too much.

Or, if you'd rather not hassle with it at all, I guess hiring some guys to come do it would be good too.

:)

I'm just always trying to think of ways to save money instead of spend!! :)

With my rheumatoid arthritis, hauling is out of the question. :) The only other way would be to be nice to my ex and have him do it for me since he has a huge cube van. We'll see how I feel about being nice to him when the time comes. lol
