iPhone!!! I want one!

Yeah its a cool phone. I'd love to get one and write some software for it, even if its only possible with Web 2.0. But I do have some apps that would rock on such a portable device with internet access. Too bad the price will keep from getting one.

My husband is going to get that phone. He loved it from the moment he saw it. Me I still use a Nokia 3330, I am totally not into gadgets.

On the other hand, I suggest waiting to see what problems show up with the first generation iPhone before buying one or waiting until they improve it before buying it.

That's just a rule of thumb with Apple products. They make good stuff, but the first generation is almost always too buggy for the price. The iPhone is tempting, and the ads sure make me ravenous with techlust.

Apple actually did go to Verizon Wireless first, but wanted a huge cut of the profits as well as wanted to dictate where it could be sold, etc. Verizon Wireless passed.

Just a few things to keep in mind - while it comes associated with the apple products, it is NOT a smartphone or PDA, just a phone, so adding applications will not be possible - just the preloads and downloads from att... Also, If you want an MP3 player on your phone, there are many out there (with all carriers) with just as much memory, or upgradeable memory, with better battery life and chipsets.

At the end of the day, it's going to be expensive, bad charging, and super fingerprinty for people who worry about that.

But, if you have $500 bucks to spend on something that is bigger and less convenient than most phones out there, knock yourself out!!

but I hate it 'cause it's not a clam and it has too much stuff that I don't need on it. All I wanted was a phone that I could use internationally and that can take pictures. I don't even use the mp3 part of it 'cause it has the same rules as the iPods use where you have to download from a certain site. I like downloading from yahoo music and this isn't compatible with that. Plus the battery only lasts me a day which is annoying.

Well, not totally, Gupt. I have an iMac and the 30G iPod, and my son has a Shuffle. I am quite happy with them. I love my iMac, actually. It's great for many things, but then again, I'm not the most techie girl out there (much to the dismay of my fiance). Back to the point I am but a poor school teacher, so Apple is definitely not just for people with money (of course, I do get a 25% discount).

i download my songs from itunes, emusic, from free (legal! lol) websites.. I've never had a problem loading songs into my ipod

I have a friend that has an ipod and has never paid a penny to itunes. He loads his CDs and illegal MP3s from bit torrent sites onto his ipod.

u don't need to download music to the ipod from an specific site.. that's the beauty of the ipod compared to the Zune or Sony MP3's.. which also kinda rats u out to the RIAA if u have some illegal copies.. rat b!tches

I have abrand new I-Pod so getting the I-Phone seems redundant right now, but when this I-pod needs replacement I am seriously gong to consider the I-phone. Can you buy it unlocked?

Well how come the songs that I download from yahoo music won't work on my phone? Also I downloaded songs from itunes and they won't work on my san disk mp3 player.

My iPod takes all my MP3's. From the ones I ripped myself to the pirate ones I got from Napster years ago. I haven't found one yet that didn't work.
