Like all things Apple it's WAY overrated...

1. A touchscreen with no keypad? Really stupid idea.

2. Cingular only (they suck - I know because I have them).

3. No 3G 'net connectivity.

4. Can't 'talk' to Exchange (the most common corporate Email servers).

5. It's an Apple product so it's expensive.

Apple does have the market share to actually be able to successfully sell the iPhone without the help of any carrier. Attaching it to AT&T hurts it more than it helps it. As they loose potential customers like me who would would by the phone, but not willing to switch carriers to get it.

On the other hand, I suggest waiting to see what problems show up with the first generation iPhone before buying one or waiting until they improve it before buying it.

I am not in to Apple computers but their other stuff like the 30 gig iPod I bought is pretty cool! I will wait for the v2 iPhone and for the price to come down but I still want one.

it's not a 3g? mhh.. well in my area i dont have a problem with Cingular, i like them.. but yeah, there are phones who can do all that stuff without paying so much, like the nokia 5700 or something else.. or a pda

I'd buy it if I didn't have to switch to AT&T. I've had AT&T/Cingular for almost a year and they're

just HORRIBLE here in NYC. They drop your calls twice a minute.
