Interview in a couple days and fiance forgot required item

My fiance lived in Australia for 8-9 months on the youth visa thing but he never got the police certificate.  The UK embassy said "Required for all countries where you have lived for more than 6 months since the age of 16 and any country where you have been arrested, even if you were not resident there".  How bad is this? :(  Should we reschedule?

Don’t reschedule. If they need it (it is normally only 12 months when it’s required) then they’ll ask him for it and put him on administrative processing while they wait for it.

do you mean 12 months since he lived in australia?  it was maybe 10 years ago and he never got in trouble and doesn't have a record.  do they ask him this question in the interview?

No, it's just the beneficiary at the interview. At least for the US embassy in the UK checklist

No, 12 months of living in the country. However, correction: I see that unlike immigrant visas, for K1 it is indeed 6 months for all countries, so he will need it. Go ahead and apply for it in the meanwhile so it gets to him as soon as possible.

It is not required as the petitioner, with the advent of submitting an application, he/she will be have their name compared with many of the databases that USCIS uses for security checks. Requirements for the interview for Philippines PCs can be found on the website for the US Embassy Philippines. And it states for following for PCs required for the interview.

https://ph.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/fiancee-visa/the-interview/

POLICE REPORT. Applicants aged 16 years and older must have a valid Philippine police (NBI) clearance from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI). For immigration purposes, an NBI clearance is valid for one year from the date of issuance.

  • Please note that an NBI Clearance with an AKA is also required. Police clearances should be in the applicant’s current name, birth certificate name, maiden name, married name, and any aliases or nicknames ever used, including different spellings of all names that may have appeared on other civil documents (e.g., birth certificate, marriage certificate, etc.), even if these names or spellings have never been routinely used. Please refer to the NBI website http://www.nbi.gov.ph for additional information. You may request NBI to directly submit your NBI clearance to the US Embassy (recommended) here: https://clearance.nbi.gov.ph/
  • Police Clearance from other countries: Applicants who have stayed for six (6) months or more upon reaching the age of 16 years are required to obtain a police certificate. Country-specific information on how to secure foreign police certificates is available at https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country.html.

I was beneficiary who lived in Australia for 6 months and they asked me to provide the police certificate from Australia when I interviewed last week.

Also, it took 2-5 business days for them to process my application to obtain the police certificate and it took nearly 4 weeks to get it in the mail. I ordered the certificate twice because I thought I made a mistake with my first order and both times it took almost a month receive it.

FWIW, and probably not much, first the RGN embassy told us we needed police certs for every place where she lived for more than 6 months.

Then after getting all those certs (which was difficult), the embassy emailed said, just the police cert where she currently lives.

She brought all her certs anyway, and the embassy only collected the cert for her city of residence.

When she got to the USA, we asked her lawyer about that, and she said that as K-1 is a non-immigrant visa, it didn't surprise her that the other police certs weren't required.

FWIW.

I agree; don't re-schedule. Do your best to get the cert, but go the interview without it if you have to.

Thanks.  Our interview was cancelled indefinitely due to coronavirus and travel bans with the UK so I guess now we have time to apply for the Aus cert in case.
