   I was a hardcore prepper for a while back in the day. Not so much now.

Meh.  I have enough stuff to last for a couple weeks.  And the wherewithal to provide for us if things get really bad.  There are still a metric ###-ton of animals to be harvested out in the wild, if one needs to eat.

  IIRC, people will start hoarding gold, silver and gasoline next, so they will be OK in the barter economy after the government falls.

Two extremes, either nothing is wrong, just like the flu,and the media is drumming up hysteria or it is world war Z.
