My fiance' will have her 18 year old son come later on his K-2 visa. He will interview the same day but come to the US a few months later.

This is how we answered the question on the DS-160 form in reference to him:

Is this child traveling to the United States with you? NO
Is this child traveling to the United States at a later date to join you? YES

This seems correct to me but my fiance' is nervous that I am saying no to the first question.

This is correct,  they are asking if the child will be traveling with her which the child will not, so No is correct

Then it asked will the child be traveling to the US later, yes is the correct answer since he will be traveling 2 months later

@Tidus992 provided the correct answer. I do want to add that you have to be aware of the visa validity dates on the visa for him. Be sure he is in the US before the visa expires or it's time to start over. good luck.

When the D-160 asks for who's traveling together, it's more for coordination purposes. It doesn't have a direct impact on the visa validity. You can still continue the k2 process

I learned the hard way, I hope YOU don't have to. Advice: learn, learn, learn.
