Appointment Cancellation Due to CoVid-19

The MRV (application) fee is valid and may be used for a visa application in the country where it was purchased within one year of the date of payment. I wonder why this notice is not posted in the official FB page and Twitter of the US Embassy (Manila). Based from the call that I made last friday, it is business as usual.

 

I think if you did not get an email, the interview is not canceled.

 

Anyway, I will call them tomorrow as our interview is on Tuesday - March 17.

Ours was March 17 too, but since my fiancee lives in Cebu she cannot travel to Manila. Rescheduled to after the lock down is supposed to expire. Who knows, may have to change again.

UPDATE ---

 

I just called the embassy today and I was told that our visa interview will proceed tomorrow.

 

As per the person I talked to, if you did not get any email (or call) indicating a cancellation, then your interview will proceed. I was informed also that they are practicing social distancing and scan before you can enter the US embassy premises.

 

FYI - I live inside Metro Manila.

Just to share it with everyone, all outstanding interviews will be cancelled until further notice. i just spoke to my paralegal and she had a chance to talk to USEM customer service earlier and confirmed about the cancellation and regarding appointments for re schedule, until further notice per USEM

So there are conflicting announcements based on this thread. Hoping someone who just had interview today  can shed a light.

Hi guys! I would like to share the info I got from USEM call center service. As of last wk, they told me it was business as usual but knowing the Metro Manila quarantine (from Cebu btw), I rescheduled my interview(March 23rd) which was set by NVC, to a later date.

 

However, just today, around 2pm, I asked them about my schedule and they told me that all they can see is my new schedule. I asked if my March 23rd sked was cancelled(just to be sure that it wont be tagged as a "no show") and they told me they cannot see or access any interview date set by NVC themselves. But he assured me that it would still be cancelled since they have cancelled all visa interviews until further notice. What he said was March 16, but basing on this thread, I must have heard otherwise.

 

All we do for now is pray that this will all settle down soon. Good luck to those who will have their interview pushed through! 👍🏻
