I received a NOA for a biometrics appointment for the i485 + i765 a couple weeks ago. I recently received another notice for a biometrics appointment for the i131.

Is this a new thing? Do I have to go for the i131 one? I thought they use the biometrics from the i485/i765 one for the i131 application.

Just to follow up, I called USCIS and they said you have to go in for the appointment, the biometrics that you already completed can't be applied to the I-131. She said it was because the biometrics for I-131 are only valid for a year and the others aren't...

Isn't the i765 valid for a year?

Yeah, I'm not sure if she was completely accurate on that. But she told me to go, so I guess I'll go. (Unless USCIS shuts down first).

Some people who previously received notices about I-131 biometrics since then received notices like that:

I didn't get that. My two appointments are very close to each other (5 days apart) so I probably won't get this after doing the first one. I guess I'll go to both.

Unfortunately USCIS is cancelling in person appointments, including biometrics due to COVID-2019. Please check. They should be rescheduled for later.

Really? I ended up doing the biometrics yesterday and they let me do it for both appointment letters.
