This is very encouraging. I'm a bit worried though as I checked your timeline and both your I-751 and N-400 were filed after my husband's.

True. Some people who applied after me also got theirs earlier like this Jan/Feb. I think it's really more dependent on how fast each person's case moved at NBC.

Do you know how to get ahold of someone at the NBC to find out more information on your case status?

Unfortunately I don't. However you can always do an inquiry or ask to speak to a tier 2 officer.

Dear Boodaloo1,

I am in the same exact 100% situation as your husband. Do not listen to people who do not have enough information - you don't have to be a serious criminal to be asked to submit re-verification. Read the I-9 detailed handbook. Stamp has to reverified and it is not that employers forget about it. There are automatic flags in most HR systems to remind them that an employee's documents are expiring.

What I did learn though is that the employer was unfair and illegal in asking for a reverification when I showed them my two year un expired GC. I could sue them for that but I did not have that knowledge then. Now, since I am in the same situation as your hubby, I have done PhD on this topic.

Read Carefully what I have done and hopefully it will help you. If you find anything else, please please please share with me. I have a good job and don't want to lose it at all.

I saved all documents from USCIS - my infopass appointment letter, the cancellation of infopass due to corona closure. My notice of action, stamps and pending i-751 status from the USCIS account to show the HR when they ask for it that I have applied but USCIS cancelled. I have called USCIS and talked to Tier 2 officer and they said it is up to the employer to accept it or not but they recommended that I ask my employer to call or check USCIS website and confirm my pending status. I asked my sister who is in HR and she said that unless they are looking to fire an employee, in such cases at extreme, they put an employee on hold /freeze with no pay and ask them to get the documents or they can use the driver license and social sec card if license is not expired. In my case license expires same day as stamp. contact me privately if you want to discuss because my stamp expires on May 1 and in SF, we do not even get appointments any time soon. I am so worried and there is no way out but to wait and watch the situation unfold. Maybe we will be able to get our stamps before they expire!

I'm having a bit of a freak out over here. My husband is currently on an I-551 stamp that expires on April 27th, 2020 (as he's waiting for his I-751 to be processed and green card to be in hand). We live in the Seattle area and already the USCIS office has been closed down for two weeks due to an employee testing positive for COVID19. All of the schools in our area are closed until at least April 27th, 2020, so I'm suspecting USCIS will follow suit. I'm trying to be a bit proactive here and am wondering what he should do if the USCIS office is not open to renew his I-551 card before it expires? His I-751 application was submitted in September of 2017. It was moved to NBC sometime in 2018. We have not heard anything since. If his I-551 stamp expires, he cannot work. We called USCIS today and they told us we could contact NBC by mail (not email or through phone), is this really our only option? Is there anyone in a similar situation? And what can we do? Any suggestions?

Did u got the stamp?

Thank goodness I did. Not easily though. It was a difficult process to get appointment and convince them.

How long did it take you to get an infopass appointment for the stamp? What was the process like?

I have an emergency (I got a new job offer and my 18mo extension expires 2 weeks after starting the job)

In my first call to USCIS to get an appointment, I was told (by the Tier 1 person) that I would be contacted within 5 business days by a Tier 2 person to schedule the appointment. I never received a call.

I called again, spoke to the Tier 1 person and was directly transferred to a Tier 2 person, and they said I would receive a call back from someone to schedule the appointment. Going on 3 days and I still have not heard back.

Did either of those scenarios happen to you?

How did you mange to get the appointment?  I called 2 weeks ago and was told that I would get a call back from Tier 2 officer, but haven't received call for 2 weeks.  How long did it take for you to get a call back?

Your call back shouldnt take that long. You probably need to call again and ask for a T2 call back. They will only try to call you once. It can be from a blocked number or show up as 000 000 0000. If you dont answer- thats it. You have to ask for a call back again.

If you are struggling to get a call back to set an appt for a 551 stamp you can try to use your congressperson to help you make the appt. It will take a few days to contact them and fill out the release form for them to be able to help you and then a few more days for them to help but if you can not get the appt on your own its an option.

I live without stamp and any proof of my status since April.they refused to give me stamp because appointments are limited and it has to be an emergency .Very rude officer I talked to didn’t want to listen to me and start to scream at me and then hang up the phone. This is ridiculous!
