04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Just kidding, hope it is nothing more than a cold.  But just in case, and if you have any, or can get some tomorrow, take Mucinex DM.  At least three different people with docs that care for them have told me that.  So I bought a bottle to have on hand, just in case.  Feel better soonest!

Thank you. :) My mom is a great believer in Mucinex DM and I always have some. It really does work! 

 

I put Alex to work tonight making ME dinner. :P Does avocado toast count as a sandwich? Because if it does, he made ME one.

Making his wife-to-be happy when she's feeling quite unwell. He also brought me a glass of Sauvignon Blanc as an aperitif so he gets PLUS points.

 

I have a feeling he is letting down the side though. Or perhaps it's all part of a fiendish plot to get me to lower my resistance to the Ukrainian sister-wives he keeps mentioning?

He keeps mentioning how they would make my life so much easier. Cleaning, cooking, all the wifely duties. I could live a fully liberated life without any of the demands he has, and therefore achieve self-actualization sooner. He even made a Powerpoint slide involving Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs that also fed in the Ukrainian sister wives in his plan to help me. I told him I appreciated the effort but no. :lol: 

 

I told him no Russia subforum at the very least. He mentioned the last time he was on here he was getting ads for dating sites and it wasn't HIM looking at that so clearly I was, and therefore I was cool with it. He also reminded me of the Ashley Madison ad debacle when we were at the AirBnB in Sussex last year.  :rolleyes: I do love him but he loves teasing me so much.

After seeing a study of scientists testing CV with a common ingredient most cough/cold drugs have including Mucinex, I couldn't recommend that drug to anyone with confirmed CV. The study showed the drug lowered resistance and caused the virus to replicate faster, increasing viral load. It's not known exactly why. Maybe by chemically quieting coughing, we aren't coughing the ####### out? Maybe have better luck using more traditional cough methods.

ON TOPIC: I booked both of us in for COVID-19 testing for Thursday morning, which is the soonest I could get reservations. Hoping for the best here for us both. 

 

Edit to add: theoretically, it WAS on topic because I may have the 'rona. If I do, then it was within the general concept of "All Things Coronavirus."
