A family friend that falls into the high risk category, has been in the hospital since this whole COVID stuff started. We were very alarmed by this but they had many negative tests since that day. Eventually they thought they had them stabilized and they discharged them to a rehab/nursing home. Knowing the state statistics with such facilities (the majority of our deaths) we were even more concerned. My sister spoke to them two weeks ago, probably the longest they had talked in a long time, and they were cheerful and ready to 'get out and get home'.

 

This week we could not get any info about them and it took some detective work on our part and several individuals demanding help from outside sources to get a wellness check. Apparently they had suddenly become ''sick'' and the home was more than happy to let them get to near death. After some struggle the family managed to facilitate immediate removal and now they are in the ICU. Tonight they are in the OR trying to save their life. Sepsis and COVID (oh yes now positive!) has ravaged their body to the point they may lose both legs and kidneys are failing. I honestly don't think they will make it...

After the division you need to multiply by 100 to get %

The aisle isnt wide enough at the end to get down side by side so I couldn't even squeeze by like I normally do with people who cant be bothered.

I think that the worker and the manager handled this very professionally:

 

Not wanting to wear a mask because of HIPAA (????how) doesn't mean you get to enter the store without a mask. She was presented with the option of having her shopping done for her and yet that wasn't satisfactory because she needed to buy "private things." What's so private? Tampons? An enema? Lube? It's not like the checkout person isn't going to clock your two-pack of Fleet or your K-Y. And if you choose self-checkout (which that Gelson's may not even have), it's not like their computers aren't taking stock of that.
