We had a similar thing last week, now no sea but we are surrounded by Mountains so the seasonal passes are closed and there are 5 State  Highway entry points. Our County Commissioners last week were discussing allowing only Residents to use County Roads, they can not control State Highways. Well firstly how would you do that and secondly who is a Resident? Over half the County accommodation is second homes but some people I know consider their property up here their primary even though they work in say Denver as they try and spend as much time up here as they can. We have one smallsh Supermarket, no Hospital, a part time Dentist, part time Doctor, a Dollar Store, 2 Breweries and quite a few Pot Shops. A lot of the full time population actually work in adjoining Counties. The nearest major supermarket to me is in the next County, 12 miles away but there is a nearly 14,000 ft mountain in the way and the pass is closed with snow and will be for a couple of months more, there is a long way around.

 

Strikes me as nonsense, we are not independent, our food, gas, propane etc all need to come in from outside. Get in a major accident and the Helicopter most likely takes you to Denver.

 

I have been told if you go into the Dollar Store and identify that you do live up here year round they have a supply of Toilet Paper in the back.

 

They have shut down the Short Term Rentals, well officially.

I've been hearing that covid deaths are not over-counted, that there are standards for reporting the deaths.  And yet, stories like this keep popping up more and more....

 

Last week, Pennsylvania began adding "probable deaths" to its count, those deaths that were presumed to be caused by COVID-19, but were not confirmed with a test. As a result, Pennsylvania's death count almost doubled over the span of two days, Fox News reported.

Then, in a move that quickly raised eyebrows, the Pennsylvania Department of Health removed 200 deaths from the state count.

Naw, but I spent most of the day outside, not huddled inside.  Must have missed it.  Either way, wasn't it you who told me that the covid count cannot just be made up, and in another topic, that it isn't monetized?

  What was monetized about it? Are you suggesting the hospital doesn't get paid if you spend 2 weeks in ICU and the diagnosis is not Covid-19? I assure you they do.
