   The governor lifted some statewide restrictions starting Apr 27, but several counties have extended them to May 8th

Here in GA. We really have not had much of a shutdown. I dont see him opening beauty shops etc as that big of a deal. Very small amount of people

 

I was in Lowes today. It was packed . No cautions or social distancing.  The bathroom was filty. I mean disgusting filty. The had an open bottle of dawn for washing hands. Foam every where.

  Common sense perhaps. Every model in existence shows that Colorado has passed the peak, while most show Georgia has not peaked yet.

Were those the models predicting millions of deaths?  It sounds like GA is using common sense.  One size fits all does not work for the whole country, and it doesn’t work for an entire state unless you are talking about RI, CT, or DE.  The governor of GA is not mandating anyone reopens, just as the Governor of CO.  Yet the governor of GA is getting all the pressure from the biased media.  So why is that?  Maybe it has something to do with the media’s political bias?

The problem here is everybody now thinks its business as normal and are running around all nilly willy. We never had much of a shut down anaway. My job went back to normal hours and practice soon as he announced hair places could open. The order here is not lifted. He just made a couple of modifications. 

 

His restaurant order mandates no more than 10 people per 500sqft. Several restaurants said. screw it and remained closed.

That is what I understood that Kemp did not eliminate his EO, just eased up on the restrictions as he was given new or better information from his public health advisors.  I wish the MI governor wouldn’t be so obstinate.

    Right, that's why some states are lifting restrictions now and some states are not. That's also why some states are getting criticized and some or not. I'm not sure why you are reacting to what the media thinks. States have to do what works best for them. If they screw up either way will be dealing with the consequences themselves too.

Exactly, so why the disparity in the media coverage?  It is important as it shows just how biased the media is.  The media has no idea what is going on behind the scenes in either place (GA, or CO), but their criticism is only directed in one place.  Pointing out media hypocrisy is a hobby of mine.

I track the increase in cases daily on my calendar.  Its staying pretty consistent. 

There is a chart on Ga Dept of Public health that shows a drop off, but there is also one that shows a increase
