With some supplies running low today I ventured out to a bunch of different stores to see what I could find. Not impressive, but I did score some flour, TP, and meat... oh and the very coveted super rare bleach. The new problem I'm encountering unfortunately is my stock of medical gloves is getting low-ish. And yes, when you've got an old person that can't really care for themselves you need to use them all the time. Ordinarily I wouldn't be going through so many, but right now with dad's conditions it's needed. So question is, where on earth do I find them? Tried everywhere I can think of - and it's either out of stock or they are keeping them for the national supply.

What about food prep disposable gloves.

 

I have seen plenty of bleach did not realise that was in short supply.

Yeah, the latest craze is... TP can be found Tues-Wed before it's gone. Flour is rare. Bread is back in stock. No bleach or cleaning product. And absolutely no hand soap.

It took me over a month to get flour -- when I found it in a supermarket, I jumped up and down and shrieked a little. Another shopper came over to see what the commotion was and he was similarly delighted, and called his spouse/partner immediately to announce his good luck, which lured someone else, and soon a little celebration had broken out. 

 

For hand soap, have you considered bar soap if you're using liquid? I made the switch a month ago to bar soap because I couldn't find the liquid stuff, and I have had no problem finding it. Meyers was all that was left on the shelf, five stores later, all that was there was three bottles. Yes plenty of bar soap, which is what I switched to. Liquid soap is mostly for the father... getting after him to wash his hands properly but in a quick manner that doesn't cause him to potentially drop it.

Irish Spring will strip oils from your skin. Mrs. Meyers, not so. Dove is also a good option.

Do you have a Harbor Freight nearby?

Why wear gloves?  Why not just use a very mild bleach solution, like 0.25-0.5% on a towel for continually wiping your hands?
