Ive done a  quick search for the number of deaths reported up to April 10 and the number reported by CDC up to today. If my searches are correct.. the number last Friday was around 16,600 deaths and the data released today has the total deaths at 33,000. So

i would say that this week does qualify as the worst week so far .. and I doubt we are at the peak.

Looks like the CDC is really undergoing some website changes, changing data, breaking links, etc.  I saw 11,356 as of last week.

https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/cases-updates/previouscases.html

I'll see if I can find some accurate data.

https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/health_policy/Provisional-Death-Counts-COVID-19-Pneumonia-and-Influenza.pdf

Being updated because it is Friday.  Let's see what that last link shows tomorrow or Monday.

Georgia is still 2 weeks away. Our stay at home order has been weak. Mostly just eating in, hairdressers and gyms.

Seems like we may have already hit peak here, over the last 4 days combined we had a total of only 30 cases, which is roughly ~1% increase per day on average(around 750 cases now)

However, it was pretty dystopian I was at the grocery store yesterday, and for each aisle they have an arrow on the floor that says "enter" or "exit"(you can't enter and exit through the same one anymore). Then, at check out they have those little circles telling you where you need to stand to be far enough away from the person in front of you, and the person unloading has their own line that they can't cross until they're ready to pay. Then, when you go pay, there is a BOX. Yes, a box you need to stand in(not a real box, but the shape of one). You can't get out of the box till they're done bagging it

ALL stores, in many states, now require masks to enter.

Something illegal or wrong about this, even if decreed by governor.
Stores can require their employees to do this, but not customers.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

In our county we are supposed to wear masks when we go into stores.  I really think it is a good idea.  Anything to help stop the spread of this virus.

But how is it different from "no shoes, no shirt, no service"? It's a public hygiene issue. As far as I know not wanting to wear a mask/face covering isn't a protected class.

People have shirts, and most have shoes or can (pun intended) cobble some footwear together.

Conversely, I (and surely others) have no source for masks.

I have my N95, talked to my Brother and he wanted to know where you get them from. I have a supply of them but have no idea where you could buy one, and presumably you would need to require the mask to be of a certain standard and fitted correctly? Like wearing a seat belt.

My wife ordered some on Amazon a month ago and they just got here Tuesday. She paid $35 for 8, and they came from China. They say N95, but who knows. She really wanted them though, mostly for work, since they are down to surgical masks. She left 2 at home.
