Good call. Hopefully we will be looking at the down side soon.

Super disappointed how this has been handled by so many car dealers. At least with the new package i can get 2 weeks sick leave.

i was out doing my 3 mile walk this morning. A customer got out of his truck and asked him if he needed some help. He replied, I am thinking about buying in June . I kid you not. I rudley asked him if he knew we were in the middle of a pandemic and shelter in place order. He said yes. I thrw my hands in the air and walked off. I have never been rude before. How can 1 person be that stupid?

We are trying to support people who are doing the right thing. My son's martial arts instructor and my daughters music teacher just sent out thank you's for continuing to pay for lessons even though no one is going to classes.

On the other hand I will think twice about ever supporting a business that didn't do what they were asked to do. It has been hard for many businesses and workers, but those that are trying to get around the social distancing guidelines are just making it worse and making it last longer for everyone else who is trying hard to do what is needed.

Saw a great article today by a guy who was totally skeptical about Covid-19 and social distancing. He was going out doing his normal routine and eventually he got it. He recovered, but he says he almost died, and he is like one of those born again folks now telling everyone to stay home and take it seriously. He said from the first day, he felt 5x worse than any other illness he ever had, and it just got worse from there.

So a week or so ago, I recall people on here complaining we weren't testing enough here in the US.  Today, we have tested more than 1.5 million people.  More than anywhere else in the world.  Is that why the crickets haven't been singing lately?

That's a pretty meaningless figure. What matters is the % of population tested. The US as a whole could still do better in that regard as it has only tested about 0.5% of the population so far. To compare, in Iceland that figure is 6.5%, the UAE 2.3%, Norway 1.9%, Switzerland 1.8%, Hong Kong 1.2%, Australia, Germany and Italy 1.1%,  Israel 0.9%, S. Korea 0.9%, I could go on but there's also Canada, Denmark, Spain, Singapore and multiple other countries still above the US.

That said, each state is different. NY for example has tested the most in the US with 1.9%.

So, the good news is it appears like the global rate of increase today is the lowest we've seen since before infection count outside China went above 1,000.

How could it do better, exactly?  What would you have done in 2018 if you were president or part of the CDC, not knowing a pandemic was looming?

Statistics are nice, I enjoy them.  But you and I both know the data can be used to paint whatever picture we want them to.  1.5 million tests in a nation that was "woefully unprepared and not testing" is a pretty damn good number.

China just ordered 200,000 body bags.  I wonder what THOSE are for?
