Spanish Rest Home Residents Found Abandoned, Dead In Their Beds

Soldiers have discovered coronavirus victims at multiple retirement facilities, Spain Defense Minister Margarita Robles said.

The inevitable consequences of media hype.

I just finished listening to an interview with Dr. Fauci. Apparently, there isn’t this big war between him and Trump like the media would have you believe.

Perhaps he explained things more eloquently than Trump, but he was very clear that the Easter “deadline” is just an optimistic goal. It isn’t set in stone. The situation and forecasts change daily... sometimes more often than that.

This Corona situation just proves that you can’t please everyone. Some people hear about normalcy by Easter and have hope. Others hear the same message and have visions of people being fed to bears and lions in an arena.

Overall, 60% of Americans think the president is doing a good job. I’m not 100% sold, but there don’t think Trump is as incompetent as MSNBC wants me to believe. Honestly, I don’t know how much this 2 trillion dollar stimulus package is going to help. I doubt it will be the last bill we see.

I just hope the extreme naysayers are wrong. It would really suck to have half of Americans dead, the other half unemployed, and also have another 2 trillion in national debt.

Haven't you heard about the Easter bunny?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

The activist leftist media is doing everything they can to create a negative narrative, and they are succeeding with many folks.  Trump is an optimist by nature, so I don’t expect him to be all doom and gloom like the Left, but he has been following the advice of the experts as he should.

The media lost control over narratives, unable to deal with social media quickly enough, and rather than employ a little bit of humility, they're throwing entitled tantrums, partaking in the weaponization of any institution to facilitate this power structure that their cosmopolitan meritocratic attitude derives.

You see this in media personnel like Oliver Darcy, Carlos Maza, and so on, doing their best to destroy social media and redirect information back to themselves. These authoritarian approaches and institutional infiltration is what ill-willed people with nothing to offer a populace, and a massive fetish for power, do.

Naturally, no one should believe a word they say, and if their claims come without proof (the higher the claim, the higher the standard of proof), it should be automatically discarded. They could say the sky is blue and I'd still demand they prove it.

  • Our local pharmacy mysteriously shut for a deep cleaning because one of the infected went in there.
  • Almost every doctor's office has cancelled on me.
  • My sister has been potentially exposed by three doctors in the practice. I am deep cleaning and disinfecting everything almost every day.
  • Cases sharply rose again in MD. Again we can only test about 500 a week, and we have almost reached that peak. Local officials in my county continue to stress they do not have barely any access to tests. Our numbers are low in this county compared to elsewhere but very close to other towns with better healthcare that have large clusters of outbreaks.
  • Cases in this county have also been very young people which barely displayed any symptoms. No fevers at all.
  • Interesting potential new symptoms described by survivors and caregivers - complete loss of taste and smell (even the strongest of bad smells) and conjunctivitis.
  • Patients are being given Vitamin D and very high doses of Vitamin C in hopes to help them.

Looks like the Bill will pass. The hang up last night was that the Feds are going to give 600 per week on top of state unemployment benefits. Many will make more on unemployment than they will employed, and this may cause problems. They wanted to cap the max amount at your normal weekly salary

For Me unemployment would around 3700 per month. Not a lot, but better than sitting around making next to nothing on commission

I know some people get upset about boosted unemployment benefits, but I don't have much of a problem with it for the duration of the problems we currently face. People are being laid off severely right now and they need severe help to pay the bills. And when they aren't working, they're then likely be without insurance which you really need if you get sick. It does create some financial stability for the laid off worker.

Agreed. I don't think this is going to encourage people to stay on unemployment. It's a bridge during an unprecedented time, and unprecedented times call for unprecedented measures. One way to support or shore up a sagging economy is to get money in pockets where those receiving it can not only meet their bills (landlords should get paid rent, because they rely on it for their income after all; ditto for utilities) but also be able to spend it in their communities and support local businesses. The majority of Americans are good people who will not abuse this, and we need to be more concerned about those people than the likely relatively low number of cretins who will take advantage of it.

Where I am, in another small city surrounded by LA, the Chateau Marmont laid off nearly all of its workers yesterday. https://losangeles.cbslocal.com/2020/03/25/coronavirus-chateau-marmont-fires-employees/ No severance, no promise of a job after this is over, and no continued health insurance after having been told they would stay essentially employed while no one was working and they would keep their insurance. Some of these are people who have worked for the hotel for decades. Now, I understand why the hotel financially needed to do this -- there needs to be a business to return to eventually. But you can't have people not being able to pay their bills or feed their families or get medical care, either. Enhanced benefits in the short term will help.
