I was in Kroger last week at the checkout and 2 straight up redneck imbeciles are behind me ignoring the 6ft marks. Neither one of these ignorant trailer trash buffoons have on mask, despite store policy requiring one.

Poor clerk rolled her eyes at the hill hillbilly. The clerk should have refused her service. I wanted to cuss her out so bad

Pretty much shouldn't matter what your opinion on masks is.

If you are not wearing them on public property, outside, or in government buildings, Woot! Defend your rights there is little science to back up that you must wear them outside (none in fact)

If you are not wearing them in a store or restaurant, then you are are a commie who doesn't respect property rights

Back in April and May we had to take temperatures at the door before we even let anyone in the building. Since I don't really do anything most days, I got roped into doing that several times. I never called anyone a commie or any other names. Didn't debate the science. Didn't talk about whether I liked masks or didn't like masks. Didn't really matter. There was one simple choice. Put the mask on and get your temp checked or turn around and get out. We all still have that freedom.

The Kroger store we frequent has people at the entrance as well as masks available.  I always wear a mask when I go in, no big deal really, and so far I have never seen anyone there without something covering their face (either a mask or a shield).  I have seen a few only wearing bandannas which I don’t think are very effective, but I agree with @Steeleballz, there have been store employees attacked over the mask thing, so I think businesses are threading a fine line.

Personally, I am fine with masks for people that are sick.  It is fairly standard in Korea and China to see people wearing masks when they are sick which is a good indicator to keep your distance.  If people here in the US wore masks during flu season when they are sick we would probably be better off.  I think the issue here is the government mandating things and expecting businesses to handle the enforcement.

Hard to do studies, but we'll get a decent idea this year anyway. We will be wearing masks at work for the foreseeable future. We've actually had very few people out sick since this all began. The next few months will be a bigger test, since it's traditionally when everyone starts getting the respiratory viruses. We won't be allowing anyone to come in to work with any of those types of symptoms so it should minimize a lot of the traditional spread of these. I would guess half the colds I ever got in the past were caught at work from someone coming in coughing and sneezing all over the place.

Schools are all requiring masks and symptom assessments every day and that's where the other half of the colds seem to come from, so we'll see how it works out.

Down in Key West again early tonight and noticed again that Duval street and most of the bars are packed.  Almost no one wearing masks. We were just driving by and did not partake in the virus sharing.

Did see a lot of (adult) costume wearing and a beautiful full moon.

The point is if you don't want to put on a mask go somewhere where its not required. Also the point is I'm ok with not following stupid rules like wearing masks outside if you're on public property. The moment its private property you ought to respect their requests, if you don't, you're a commie with no regard for property rights.

I guess I am luck, probably have to wear a mask 15 minutes a week, feel for those who have to wear them all day.

Appreciate the sympathy, but I do wear them most of the day at work and it's just not a big deal. I would describe it as mildly inconvenient but even that's an overstatement. I don't know if an adjective really even exists that describes how trivial it is. I don't like wearing them, but I understand why we do. I really don't get the extent of the resistance.
