    What you posted is all correct, but the virus is still potentially deadly. When I see a positive Covid test, I can look at lab results, vitals, o2 sat etc, and you can get an idea of how someone is going to do from the time they are admitted. People are starting to come in to ER in really bad shape again. That wasn't happening all summer, not to the extent is has on the last couple of weeks.

 

  Whether people are waiting too long to come in, or whether the cooler temperatures have made the virus more virulent IDK, but many of these people will be fighting for their lives and some won't make it. All of a sudden, just like back in April, our Covid units are operating at capacity. The treatment may have improved, but it hasn't improved enough to where people with sepsis, organ failure and disseminated intravascular coagulation will be able to recover.  This is going to continue to be a challenging illness to manage, and when we see infection rates spike, we are going to see the number of deaths go up correspondingly too. As always, the best thing anyone can do is try to avoid getting exposed.

Are you telling me that everyone agrees in the scientific community?  Besides, I was not discounting the science, I was merely pointing out what the numbers are saying from Worldometers and asking why this is not being discussed.  They show some nice handy graphs showing the progression of this deadly virus.

The left like to give "science" personal characteristics as a way of positioning it toward their unscientific bias.. weaponizing it. Sufficed to say, no rational person believes the left cares about science nor "morals", even though they like to throw these and a litany of other empty-handed terms to whomever is weak enough to give it the time of day.

   Well it is being discussed. Everywhere. Several schools here have gone back to online learning only. That trend is going to continue. We are on the cusp of other restrictions coming back. Denver just brought back restrictions on large gatherings.

Yep.  Every year.  How many people have died from malaria, TB, and HIV (yanno, the original pandemic) this year, or in 2019?  You probably don't know, and you most likely don't care, do you?

I'm sure some random CEHST mask expert will be along shortly to tell you that masks WORK (dammit), and you must wear it for the sake of those around you.  

 

For the rest of us, the science has been out there for years.  It's better than nothing, if only one uses them properly.

Some of us do care and donate to organizations that help with those diseases around the world. But a lockdown is not going to help with them, for obvious reasons.

The way the diseases are transmitted. I think it's pretty obvious. A lockdown will not stop mosquitoes and obviously HIV is transmitted sexually or through blood, so social distancing and masks is not a solution that makes sense.

Isn't TB as contagious, and spread the same way as Covid?

TB is complex and malnutrition is one of the biggest risk factors for developing the disease after contracting it. Also, TB is caused by bacteria and can be treated with antibiotics.
