If Covid causes medical issues that lead to someones death it will be listed as such. So if someone has Flu and Covid and dies of respiratory failure, all three of those things will be listed as cause of death.

The only people who will care are the families of the deceased and those who are pushing to keep people at home rather than "risking" being out in public.

WHO warns against COVID-19 lockdowns due to economic damage

 

The World Health Organization has warned leaders against relying on COVID-19 lockdowns to tackle outbreaks — after previously saying countries should be careful how quickly they re-open.

WHO envoy Dr. David Nabarro said that such restrictive measures should only be treated as a last resort, the British magazine The Spectator reported in a video interview.

“We in the World Health Organization do not advocate lockdowns as the primary means of control of this virus,” Nabarro said.

“The only time we believe a lockdown is justified is to buy you time to reorganize, regroup, rebalance your resources, protect your health workers who are exhausted, but by and large, we’d rather not do it.”

  Hopefully nothing major. One of the H1N1 vaccines released in Europe in 2009 cause severe narcolepsy. It affected ~1300 people and some of them still can't do things like work or drive a car to this day. I'm a strong proponent of vaccines in general, but there are risks, especially when they are rushed to production without being tested adequately.

There's no question this is about people wanting to be political douchebags unrelated to health. They can screw themselves. No sense in mincing words with sort of targeted malevolence.

What are your thoughts on the process happening here in the US and Europe regarding the vaccine testing?  It seems they are following regular protocol although accelerated a bit.  Not anywhere near how Russia is rushing a vaccine without phase 3 testing.

I agree.  That's why I won't be taking a covid vaccine for a few years, most likely.

  I agree, I think they are following protocol here, which is why they halted the trial. They are trying to do it as fast as they can I guess. I think that's how they missed the narcolepsy in 2009 though. Some symptoms take a while to develop. IIRC, the narcolepsy was an autoimmune response triggered by one of the adjuvants used in the vaccine.

    I don't like going first. I'll probably have to get it whenever it's offered though. It will be mandatory like the flu vaccine for health care workers. We need to the flu shot by Oct 31st or we are suspended without pay and then considered voluntary resignation after 4 days of that.

 

   Interestingly enough, people who got an exemption in the past were required to wear a mask all flu season, so they probably could could get some anecdotal mask data from that if they wanted to. Makes we want to ask a few people if they got sick less when they had to do that.

I know when the wife and I got the second dose of the shingles vaccine, it felt like we had the Vid the next day, but luckily it only lasted 12-24 hrs.  Overall, I am pro-vaccine, we already got our flu shots, etc., but I also want proper due diligence to be completed which is why I don’t panic when these stories come out about pauses in the trials which really isn’t a pause, but rather an investigation into the response data, as far as I know, those participating in the trials have already received their doses, but I could be wrong.

Ummmm, a lot of those Lakers fans aren't exactly woke. And there were a ton of arrests the other night for criminal mischief, assault, etc.
