The health and economic costs were not irrelevant and no one said that. I guess you need to resort to making up an argument now, but hopefully that helps you realize how weak your actual position is.

The health and economic costs were inevitable. We should have tried to mitigate them as best as we could, and we should have had unifying leadership doing that. Unfortunately we had children dressed as politicians to lead the way.

That's because just like you, and me, and everyone else in the world, we were all guessing at what was best.  Still are, actually. The leadership WAS particularly bad in a few places, but overall, we achieved the goal of flattening the curve.  The destruction to the economy will recover, mostly has already.  The destruction to individual lives via joblessness, suicide, etc., will take a bit more time to calculate.

But just like I said back in March... the economic disaster would be worse than the disease itself, and I stand by that.  Time will tell, I reckon.

Here in Arizona there have been 9,026 more deaths on a population of 7,189,020 compared to the same January to August period last year.  Tourism and other areas of the economy are decimated.  January and February had a 5% increase likely linked to the flu.

So the leadership of CO was not unifying and following the science?  Remember, pandemic response is the responsibility of the states.

Last I heard, state senators were still trying to sue the governor over the constitutionality of being required to wear masks. That's their big issue in all of this.

Why are they so worried about something petty like the constitution? Don't they know this is an important matter?

Probably because they are doing it for show. Doesn't matter how loud people whine about it, there's nothing in the constitution that would prevent the government from mandating mask laws in a public health crisis caused by a contagious virus.

Ask Whitmer what constitutionality is. Her mask order got flushed along with the rest of her authoritarian orders. Not even emergencies give governments a blank check to do what they please. They need to repeatedly justify any harm or infringement they're committing. The federal government, well, there's no question they can't do anything on that for the vast majority of circumstances.

They still have the  mask orders. Now issued by the DOH, who now have the court ordered authority to issue and enforce those authoritarian orders.

The enforcement end is fairly lax though.  Most stores now days other than putting up signs are telling their employees to not get into altercations over the entire mask thing.  The police have better things to do, so not really sure who is actually enforcing anything.  Considering how the Dems and their media allies have made the wearing of masks a political issue, it is not surprising that there is pushback.  I don't have any issues wearing a mask going into a store, but it comes off as soon as I exit unless I am going into another store.  I am more comfortable keeping my distance from others and reducing any interaction to a brief minimum.  We were hiking in SD and WY last week, and I was amazed at the number of folks pulling up masks for a brief passing on a hiking trail.

I was in Key West a few weeks ago walking on Duval street.  Not so many people there at the time.  Almost everyone on the street was wearing a mask.  The police were riding up and down the street in their cruisers and whenever they saw someone not wearing a mask they got on their speaker and let them know that they must wear a mask any time they are out in public, including walking on the street.  Since that day the Governor has relaxed the rules in our state, but Key West seems to make up their own rules...Always.

Was down their last week but did not venture onto Duval street.

That is interesting for an outside environment.  I heard the Governor of CA wants people to be masked between bites if they are in a restaurant.

I know.  Been saying it for months.  99% of people have NO IDEA how to properly wear/handle a mask.  And even now, I don't... I wear the same mask until it is visibly dirty, then toss it out and don a new one.  But my last mask lasted probably three weeks.  All the paper surgical masks really do is leave a trail of vapors behind me instead of in front of me.  :)
